Anime Limited & FUNimation Q2 Release Schedule Released

Anime Limited have recently taken to their official blog to announce the Q2 release line-up for both their own titles as well as those released by FUNimation UK; and it looks to be a pretty busy period for both companies.

As per usual the dates listed below are tentative and could change without notice.

It’s worth noting that Riddle Story of Devil, which was previously scheduled for release on the 27th February 2017 (especially on our noteboard), has been moved to a To Be Confirmed dates – with online retailer even listing the series for a December 2017 release date.

Brothers Conflict was originally due to be released in February however due to BBFC Certifications taking longer than expected FUNimation UK are now planning to release the series in March.

Anime Limited Announce Tokyo Goul OVA’s, Sword of the Stranger and Dragon Dentist for UK Release

It’s always surprising when an anime distributor opts to announce a handful of new titles outside of a Comic-Con event; but that’s exactly whats happened as after Manga UK’s announcement of Yo-Kai! Watch UK release competitor Anime Limited have announced that they will be releasing Tokyo Ghoul OVA’s, Sword of the Stranger and Dragon Dentist at some point within the UK. Read more of this post

Anime Limited Announces a Limited ‘Collectors Edition’ Release of Full Metal Panic Blu-ray Colleciton

Fourteen months after the release of Full Metal Panic – Ultimate Edition, a set which saw Full Metal Panic, Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid and Full Metal Panic: FUMOFFU compiled into a single package with a hardback artbook (which we unboxed), Anime Limited have now announced that they will be releasing a ‘Collectors Edition’ Blu-ray set as a Limited Print Run. Senran Kagura: Estival Versus Steam Release Announced alongside Ikki Tousen DLC

Senran Kagura fans rejorce! As not only have Marvelous Games (within Europe) and XSEED Games (within America) announced that last years PS4 (and PS Vita release) Senran Kagura: Estival Versus will be making the jump to PC but the last remaining cross-over DLC, alternatively known as the Ikki Tousen Character DLC, will also be making its way to the PC, PS4 and PS Vita. As Manga Entertainment UK begins to announce new license acquisitions, such as the recent confirmation that they will be releasing Yo-Kai! Cyborg 009: Call of Justice Added to Netflix UK

While Amazon Prime continues to expand it’s anime streaming catalogue with new simulcast streams Netflix have opted to take a slightly different approach by not only constantly offering ‘already available on home video’ anime titles but Netflix exclusive titles; in this case Cyborg 009: Call of Justice a sequel of sorts to the previously released 2013 movie released by Anime Limited onto DVD and Blu-ray. Selection of Upcoming FUNimation UK Titles Switched to Blu-ray

Consider this both good and bad news as distributor Anime Limited, on behalf of FUNimation UK, have recently announced on their blog that a selection of upcoming FUNimation titles have been switched to Blu-ray only releases (as opposed to Combo Pack’s and Stand-a-lone DVD’s) due to the Japanese licensor demanding PAL authored DVD’s.
