Netflix to Stream CGI Animated Film BLAME! Globally Next Year

Video-on-Demand subscription service Netflix have announced that they will be once again teaming up with animation studio Polygon Pictures in order to release a CGI anime film based upon Tsutomu Nihei manga BLAME! The film, which will receive a gloabl debut on Netflix next year, will also be created and broadcast in 4k UDR meaning that anyone with a 4K HDTV will be able to watch it at it’s best possible picture quality. Netflix continues to expand it’s anime streaming selection and be a contender for your subscription fee as over the past few days the video-on-demand subscription service have added Magi: Adventure of Sinbad, to their anime streaming line-up.

For those who are not familiar Magi: Adventure of Sinbad is a prequel spin-off to Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic and Magi: The Kingdom of Magic, both of which have been released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK via Kaze Entertainment, and it is a series which shows how sinbad came to be the man he is today… or at least the man that he is within the Magi universe. Netflix UK once again becomes a ‘noticeable force’ in the anime streaming community as the video-on-demand streaming service have today added the Aniplex of America titles Aldnoah Zero and Your Lie in April to it’s anime line-up.

Perfect Bones Acquired by Netflix for Global Streaming

Netflix continues to ‘poke’ its head into the anime streaming market as within the past 24 hours the online streaming giant has announced that it has acuqired the global streaming rights to Production I.G’s latest anime series; Project Bones.

This 12-part anime series, directed by Kazuto Nakazawa, will be set in the future and see will see an organisation stealing details on how to create ‘near perfect’ humans in order to advance their own agenda. It sounds like an interesting storyline and, in some aspects, falls-in line with the Sci-Fi anime themes that Netflix have previously acuqired. Read more of this post

Tenkai Knights and Black Lagoon Added to Netflix UK

The subscription-based-streaming-service Netflix continues to become a ‘player’ in the battle for anime streaming content as today both Black Lagoon and Tenkai Knights have been added to growing list of on-demand anime content.

As part of this recent addition Netflix owners will now be able to enjoy the entire Black Lagoon franchise, which consists of Season 1, The Second Barrage and the OVA Series Roberta’s Blood Trail, as well as a wide-selection of episodes from the children-orientated-anime series Tenkai Knights.

Both titles have been added to the service as part of a new partnership with Viz Media Europe (KAZE) and it further explains why an english subtitled trailer for Tenkai Knights was included on some KAZE releases earlier last year; although whether or not KAZE plan to release Tenkai Knights on DVD in the UK still remains a mystery.
