MVM Entertainment have recently confirmed that due to a “new deal with suppliers” future anime releases will be coming on Blu-ray in addition to their standard DVD release.
Thanks to a new deal with our suppliers, its now cheaper for us to support the format and therefore we can release more titles this way, both new and existing. Stay tuned over the next few weeks as we update our release schedule.
Throughout the day MVM Entertainment have been ‘bombarding’ their Twitter feed with information on titles they are getting the Blu-ray treatment, titles including Girls Und Panzer (Complete Series & OVA Sets), Accel Word (Part 1 and Part 2), From the New World and Campione!
As it stands all of the titles are currently available to pre-order from Anime-On-Line, but in due course they will be available to pre-order from alternate retailers (such as Amazon and Play).
That’s not all as MVM Entertainment plan to re-release some of their older titles onto Blu-ray as well, of course if the High Definition materials are available.
@iamdroflet we’ll be looking at both new and existing titles of ours.

So it was a great weekend to be a Blu-ray Anime fan, as now the three major distributors (Manga Entertainment, MVM Entertainment and Anime Limited) are releasing quality anime entertainment onto Blu-ray.
Let’s hope Clannad and Clannad After Story get a Blu-Ray release over here soon then. The US versions are unfortunately Region Locked. And I would certainly buy it if it gets a release. And I’m certain I can’t be the only one 🙂
Manga UK has the rights to both Clannad and Clannad After story, not MVM. Also Jerome once said that a Blu-ray release isn’t likely.
