With Manga Entertainment’s UK DVD release of The Devil is a Part Timer being pretty much broke, as pointed out in our review due to poor audio quality and lack of chapter points, we decided to venture out and see if the Blu-ray release is any better; and luckily for us it is!

Better is the ‘best’ word to describe this set as it’s still far from perfect; as while the ‘tinny audio issue’ experienced within the DVD release is nowhere to be found this Blu-ray release still suffers from the other faults, such as lack of text during opening and closing songs and the in-correct chapter markers. Fortunately these can be ‘overlooked’ as everything else works as intended.

Just like it’s DVD counterpart viewers can expect 13 episodes of ‘devil-related-insanity’ while accompanying the episode count is the strong-line-up of bonus content, such as cast commentaries and making of the demonic language. In terms of packaging then it’s pretty standard and fun; as on the front we have the main devils while on the back is the remaining cast members. The inside has pretty standard, but does the job well, disc artwork as well as a reversible sleeve that shows all of the main characters in one picture and offers a break-down of the episodes.

In short this Blu-ray Release of The Devil is a Part Timer is better than its DVD release, which is to be expected, it’s just a shame that MangaUK’s some of the reoccurring errors, such as chapter markings, still occur. The BEST release of this series so far is obviously the American release, however if that works out too expensive then this Blu-ray release is a worthwhile substitute.
