Those looking forward to One Piece: Burning Blood, which is of course a brand new One Piece themed fighting game developed by Spike Chunsoft, will be excited to learn that the newly released gameplay trailer pretty much illustrates exactly what you can expect to receive from the game when its out later this year.
As we already know One Piece: Burning Blood is a 3D fighting game offering similar gameplay mechanics found within both Saint Seiya: Soldier’s Soul (behind the character camera view) and J-Stars Victory VS+ (teams of up to 3 characters during a single fight) but what we didn’t know is that various attack combinations can be performed, both special abilities and team attacks, and that the rosta has been extended to contain newly introduced, and less-favourable, characters such as 4th Gear Luffy, Daflamingo, Paramecia, Logia and Zoan.
In addition to the newly confirmed character choices a ‘support’ assist mechanic will also be available whereby, much like in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm, characters can be called in for support for a limited period of time; furthermore, just like in Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden, the support character list will vary to that of the regular character list meaning that a wide selection of characters will, in some shape or form, be accessible within the game.
One Piece: Burning Blood is setting itself up to be a pretty interesting fighting experience; not only does it take elements found from other popular anime games but it will also come with a full-fledged story mode and the traditional fighting game modes we’ve come to expect the traditional fighter.
One Piece: Burning Blood will be released onto the PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita and PC later this year; with retailers already accepting pre-orders for the game across the globe.
