To celebrate the announcement of Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains being released onto the Nintendo 3DS within the UK, Europe and America later this year the Nintendo eShop is currently offering the first two episodes of the anime for free.
As of yesterday, Thursday 2nd April 2015, and until the 2nd July 2015, anyone with access to the Nintendo eShop within the UK, Europe and America can watch the first two episodes of the anime. Interestingly not only is the anime presented uncut, which is a surprise considering its violent and brutal nature, but its being presented in Japanese with English Subtitles – which may cause some annoyances when viewed on smaller devices; but at least the translation is better than those on the UK Blu-ray sets.
While it’s exciting to see anime used in this fashion, as it not only helps promote the game but the show itself; it’s disappointing that the episodes have to be streamed through the eShop as opposed to digitally downloaded onto the device – as it would have been nice to watch them while out and about.
The 3DS Game, Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains, will be released by Atlus later this year onto the Nintendo 3DS platform. The anime series its based upon, Attack on Titan, is now available on DVD and Blu-ray within the UK.
