Spike Chunsoft, in partnership with UK based publisher Numskull Games, have once again made a surprising announcement that the physical UK release of Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne has been delayed until 5th March 2021 as a result of continued logistical challenges as a result of heavy snowfall in Europe as well as the impact of COVID-19 and Brexit. The game was released digitally, as planned, earlier this month.
Originally Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne was scheduled to be released throughout the UK and Europe on the 5th February 2021, however while the European and digital UK release of the game went ahead the physical edition, for both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, was pushed back to the 19th February 2021. The reason for this delay is was a result of ongoing difficulties with the impact of COVID-19 and Brexit.
Today’s announcement meanwhile sees the physical UK release pushed back another two weeks until the 5th March 2021, thus making it a full months delay compared to its European and digital counterpart. The reason for this delay is once again the impact COVID-19 and Brexit is having on logistics from the EU into the UK and the disruption caused by the dangerous levels of snowfall hitting the UK and Europe. Specific details were not provided, but it does mean UK fans will now have to wait even longer for a game that has been widely available everywhere else for several weeks and -even more surprisingly- EU retailers such as Amazon can export the stock to UK customers within a week.
Either way the UK Physical Release of Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne has been delayed until 5th March 2021 while the digital version is readily available on Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Store.
