Awesome Japan have today launched the launch of Hiroshi Nishikiori’s new kickstarter project, Chika*Chika Idol; with funding currently under-way on the Kickstarter website.
The goal of the project is to raise $130,000 so that a 15-minute-long CGI anime episode about a new group of idol’s can be produced. The episode itself will be directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori; a director who previously worked on both A Certain Magical Index and Azumanga Daioh anime TV series.
CHIKA*CHIKA IDOL is the story of three young girls in the old towns of Tokyo who dream of becoming idols.
They can’t get into a talent agency, nor do they have any albums released – but they can’t sit around and wait for that to happen! They want to get up on stage and perform with all their hearts – now!
CHIKA*CHIKA IDOL is a brand new idol animation project, depicting underground idol girls whose activities are centered around live performances. This episode in-the-making will unveil the very first live performance of the 3-girl idol unit, Pâtithree, the events leading up it, and what happens afterward!
The story in the anime will be based on the comic (currently available on the official website), and will continue on to depict the developments that follow, so be sure to check out the comic first!
Hiroshi Nishikiori, along with Awesome Japan, are looking to secure $130,000 so that the project animated feature can be created and as with all Kickstarter Projects those who help fund it will be given rewards. Those wishing to receive a digital download of the film for instance will have to pay $25 while those wanting a physical copy will have to pay %55. Higher tiers will offer more rewards, with some tiers even reaching to $1,000 or more.
The Kickstarter Campaign for Chika*Chika is currently underwar and it’s expected to last for an enitre month; more information about the project can be found on the official kickstarter website.
