Unboxing: Toradora – The Complete Series (Blu-ray) [UK]

With MVM Entertainment releasing Toradora onto Blu-ray (and DVD) this week we’ve decided it would be a good idea to see what the retail set has to offer and that’s exactly what we are going to do in our latest unboxing article.
The Blu-ray release of Toradora – The Complete Series features 25, plus one bonus OVA episode, across three blu-ray discs – each of which are presented in High Definition and are available in both English and Japanese audio languages. In hindsight it’s the same content as that of it’s DVD counterpart, even the artwork, packaging and design is exactly the same – the only real difference is the HD Content included on the disc.
When it comes to packaging and design then not a lot can be said; the front cover features the main characters and the series logo while the back is littered with logos, screenshots and small text that depict the series synopsis and disc contents. On the inside each disc features a different set of character artwork; but interestly the artwork seems ‘quite pale’ in comparison to that of the artwork on the front cover. for instance the girls jackets seem a pale pink where as on the front it’s a dark red. What’s more interesting is that their are no Hanabee logos are on the disc, something which previous blu-ray releases have had.
In my eyes this Blu-ray release of Toradora is a bland, but simplistic release, that contains the series and a wealth of bonus content – and there is nothing wrong with that – it’s just i kind of expected a bit more, especially in terms of artwork and packaging. Toradora – The Complete Series Collection is now available on both Blu-ray and DVD within the UK.
Hi, thx for your article. I’m waiting for a release in France for a while now, and nothing is coming…So I was thinking of buying the UK version instead. I just wanted to ask you if you can confirm that there is ONLY english subtitles ? I have no problem with english…but my girlfriend does, and I would like to watch it with her so…
Thank you for your reply !
Hi;
As mentioned in the review the audio is in English & Japanese while subtitles are only available in English.
