Fate/EXTELLA LINK European Nintendo Switch Release Announced Alongside Collector’s Edition

UK based games publisher Marvelous Games, otherwise known as Marvelous Europe, have today announced that Fate/EXTELLA LINK, which is of course the sequel to 2017’s multi-platform release of Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star, will be released onto the Nintendo Switch and Windows PC alongside the previously announced PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions early next year. In addition the publisher also unveiled two ‘store exclusive’ Collector’s Edition releases for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

Entitled Joyeuse Edition and Emperor of Paladins Edition and Joyeuse Edition, both of these Limited Edition releases will be available for the PlayStation 4 and be exclusive to the Marvelous Games website within Europe. The Joyeuse Edition contains a soundtrack CD, a pack of 10 collectible 7.6cm by 12.7cm cards depicting each of the new Servants, a 43.1cm by 60.9cm cloth poster, and a 7.6cm by 11.4cm acrylic diorama featuring the Servants Nero, Drake, and Scáthach, all housed in a custom presentation box. The Emperor of Paladins Edition includes the same content as the Joyeuse Edition  plus a stunning set of ‘Holy Tile of the Moon’ Mahjong tiles featuring characters from the Fate/EXTELLA franchise.

These Collector’s Editions are exclusive to the Marvelous Games website within Europe and are only available for the physical Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 releases of Fate/EXTELLA Link. Fate/EXTELLA Link will be available physically and digitally for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 as well as digitally for PlayStation Vita and Windows PC via Steam.

Synopsis: Picking up right where the 2017 smash hit Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star left off, Fate/EXTELLA LINK adds 10 servants to the original roster of 16. The high-speed action gameplay has been refined, and players will battle their way through massive invading armies to retake the virtual world of SE.RA.PH from an invading force.

Players on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC can also now engage in massive four-on-four online battles with up to seven other players. Foes will quiver at the True Name of players’ Noble Phantasms as they assume the role of their favourite Servant.

  • Combatants from Across the Fate Universes Join the Fray – In addition to the 16 original Servants from Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star, 10 characters from other Fate series will enter battle as playable Servants, including Astolfo, Scáthach, and Francis Drake.
  • Hunker Down in Base Camp – Players can move freely around their army’s base camp — a medieval cathedral raised into the sky — and interact with their Servants to build meaningful bonds.
  • Polished Graphics and Battle Mechanics – Players can experience refined combat mechanics and graphics throughout every part of the gameplay experience.
  • Take The Fight Online – With 4-vs-4 Online Multiplayer Masters and Servants can now battle it out online for honour and glory in competitive team based multiplayer modes*

Fate/EXTELLA Link is currently planned for a Q1 2019 release onto the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Windows PC and Nintendo Switch; with official release date details to be confirmed at a later date.
