Several months ago Universal Pictures UK announced that they would be releasing a selection of anime titles within the UK; starting with the Collector’s Edition release of My Hero Academia – Season 1. Well unfortunately these titles have now been ‘delayed’ until further notice due to “unavoidable delays” as noted by John Partridge, Marketing Manager at Universal Pictures on UK Anime Network. Following on from their Collector’s Edition Blu-ray and DVD releases of Seraph of the End, The Heroic Legend of Arslan and My Hero Academia Universal Pictures UK have now announced, through an exclusive with the UK Anime Network, their plans for the remainder of the year with each title reciving some-sort of special treatment. Last month Universal Pictures UK announced that it would be releasing the first season of My Hero Academia as a Collector’s Edition Blu-ray and DVD combo pack release within the UK and now a mere month after this announcement this ‘Collector’s Edition’ release of My Hero Academia is now within our grasp. Late last month BBFC listings were discovered that revealed that Universal Pictures UK would be releasing the first season of My Hero Academia on Blu-ray and DVD. Well today Universal Pictures UK have officially confirmed that they will be releasing the series within the UK and better yet it will be getting the Limited Edition Blu-ray and DVD Combo Pack treatment.
