All The Anime Unveils Q4 2014 Release Schedule

tengen-toppa-gurren-lagann-1As of late All The Anime have been rather quiet with their plans for upcoming anime releases; especially after the successful Kickstarter campaigns for Patema Inverted and Mai Mai Miracle. Well that is about to change as All The Anime have today taken to their blog to reveal the full Q4 2014 release Schedule and there is a few surprises in-store.

September 2014:

  • Gurren Lagann: Ultimate Edition -> SRP £149.99
  • Gurren Lagann: DVD Collector’s Edition -> SRP: £49.99
  • Gurren Lagann: TV Blu-Ray collection -> SRP £59.99 (changed from £79.99 SRP in exchange for an Amaray box)

October 2014:

  • Patema Inverted – Regular Edition -> SRP: £24.99

November 2014:

  • Wings of Honneamise – Collector’s Edition Combi-pack -> SRP £34.99
  • Wings of Honneamise – DVD edition -> SRP £17.99
  • Space Dandy – Blu-Ray Collector’s Edition -> SRP £69.99
  • Space Dandy – DVD Collector’s Edition -> SRP £49.99

December 2014:

  • Mystery Film – Collector’s Edition Combi-pack -> SRP £34.99
  • Mystery Film – DVD Edition – SRP £19.99
  • TENTATIVE: Kill la Kill – Part 1 Collector’s Edition Combi-pack SRP: £59.99

It’s worth nothing that all Ultimate and Collectors Edition bundles will receive artbooks and come in a rigid chipboard case (similar to that of Cowboy Bebop / Tiger & Bunny Movie); furthermore the Blood Lad sets will include the OVA Episodes.

It’s nice to see All The Anime starting to push a larger range of releases out onto the market; as other than Kickstarter Campaigns or cinematic releases we haven’t heard much from them. Furhtermore while the ‘release month’ has been confirmed the actual release date for each title (other than Gurren Lagann) has yet to be announced so some waiting is still in order.

Earlier in the week a variety of new Anime Licenses for UK Distribution were unveiled, some were revealed in the latest Issue of NEO Magazine (on sale now) while others were revealed in the latest, Christmas themed, Manga UK podcast.

Interestingly some of the titles have already been announced, but majority of them are brand new announcements – so it seems that 2014 will be a great year for anime fans, but what exactly can we expect – well lets take a look:

Anime Limited:

Durarara!! (Format: Blu-ray & DVD, ETA March 2014)
Nerima Daikon Brothers (Format: TBC, ETA: April 2014)
Gurren Lagann (Format: Blu-ray & DVD, ETA: April 2014)

Manga Entertainment UK:

High School DxD (Format: Blu-ray & DVD, ETA: 2014)
The Devil is a Part-Timer! (Format: Blu-ray & DVD, ETA: 2014)
Fairy Tail Movie (Format: Blu-ray & DVD, ETA: 2014)
One Piece – Collections 5 to 8 (Format: DVD, ETA: 2014)
Naruto Shippuden (Format: DVD, ETA: 2014)

Majority of the anime listed above will most likely be released during the second half of 2014, especially for Manga Entertainment’s list of titles, as the distributor is already releasing a ton of anime during the first two quarters of 2014 – including Blu-ray versions of Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online and Magi as well as DVD releases of Dragon Ball GT, One Piece and Naruto.

MVM Entertainment have yet to unveil a list of their 2014 anime, but they will be releasing a variety of anime within the next few weeks including Hakuoki, Infinite Stratos and Is This a Zombie of the Dead – all of which will only be released on DVD.

Anime Limited Acquire Space Dandy for UK Distribution

space_dandy_banner

File this under slightly late (it’s been a busy week for me) but Anime Limited (also known as All The Anime) have recently announced that they have acquired the UK distribution rights for Shinichiro Watanabe’s latest anime series, Space Dandy.

The Series, which sounds more like an old-school comic book than a anime, is a comical tale about Dandy’s adventures in space with his trusty sidekicks QT and Meow. The series has a unique art style and offers some charming similarities to Cowboy Bebop, as Dandy, QT and Meow travel the universe capturing aliens, all the while getting themselves into all sorts of comical trouble.

Space Dandy is a ‘new’ series and Anime Limited will be doing a English Subtitled simulcast on their anime streaming service Wakanim, while an English Dubbed version (which is being produced by FUNimation Entertainment) will be released onto Blu-ray and DVD later next year, as Andrew Partridge, founder and president of Anime Limited explains:

‘We are beyond thrilled at acquiring Watanabe-san’s latest series Space Dandy for the UK! For me, this is a series I’ve been looking forward to since it was announced so being able to bring it to the UK means a lot to me and the Anime Limited team. We’re huge fans of Watanabe-san and can’t wait to watch the show’.

So there we have it, Space Dandy will be distributed into the UK next year by Anime Limited and will be available digitally (in Japanese with English Subtitles) via Wakanim with an English Dubbed (and English Subtitled) Blu-ray and DVD release following later next year. See You Soon Space Dandy!
