As readers maybe aware the Sony Movie Channel started the ‘Late Night Anime’ slot several weeks ago, with a variety of popular KAZE UK Releases, including Berserk, Bleach and Journey to Agartha, already being shown – as well as upcoming releases such as last week’s Black Lagoon: Roberta’s Blood Trail, so it’s always worth keeping an eye on the channel to see what will be shown next.

What started as a ‘one-off’ month long event with Bleach Movies has now become (for the time being) a weekly occurence on the Sony Movie Channel (Sky 323). Introducing the ‘Late Night Anime‘ section of the Sony Movie Channel, whereby every Monday night (Tuesday morning) the Sony owned channel will broadcast an anime movie.

So far the channel has broadcast all four currently released Bleach films, with Bleach:Hell Verse being the latest showing, however next week the channel will begin to show the Berserk movie franchise. It’s currently unclear if both Berserk movies will be broadcast seing as the second movie is only released on DVD next week, however the first film will be shown next week.

Berserk: The Gold Arge Arc I – Egg of the King will be shown on Tuesday 3rd September 2013 at 1:05am on the Sony Movie Channel located on Sky 323. The Sony Movie channel also has a +1 as well (which should be located at Sky channel 324).

It’s also worth mentioning that all of the films shown so far have been Kaze UK licensed titles, so maybe other Kaze titles (such as Roujin Z) will be shown on the channel – but only time will tell.

It’s not Blu-ray (or DVD) related but Kix TV, the Free-To-Air TV Channel that is currently available on Sky and Freesat, have today announced that new episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai will be shown along with relatively new anime-based TV Series, Scan2Go.

Dragon Ball Z Kai was previously shown on a daily basis when it started airing last year until all of its alotted episodes, which ran until the end of the Frezia Saga, were shown. Since then Dragon Ball Z Kai has had a ‘limited’ run on the TV channel with episodes being shown mostly at weekends but from next week the series will return to the TV Channel.

Dragon Ball Z Kai will recommence airing on the 22nd July 2013 and according to listing’s it will be broadcast at 8:30am, 12pm and 8pm everday with the series starting from the very first episode and continuing straight through to the new episodes.

In addition to Dragon Ball Z Kai, the Japanese-Korean anime series Scan2Go (which is co-produced by D-Rights and aimed at a younger auidience) also starts on the 22nd July, with episodes being shown at 8am, 12:30pm, 3:3opm, 9:30pm and 10pm everday. The series itself is set in a futuristic universe whereby races involving the use of miniature automated toy cars and cards are played out. The english dub for Scan2Go was produced by Ocean Productions and Blue Water Studios and has previously been shown on Cartoon Network in America.

It seems like Kix TV, which can be viewed for FREE if you have a Sky Box (or Freesat Box) is the new destination for edited anime series on TV, as the channel is also currently showing Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and Digimon Data Squad.

Kix TV to Air Dragon Ball Z Kai Daily Next Year, Timeslots Revealed

DBZ_kai_goku_opening

It has not been ‘actively’ confirmed from CSC Media, but from the 6th January 2013 Dragon Ball Z Kai will be shown daily on the Kid’s TV Channel, Kix TV, which is available to view (for FREE) on Sky & Freesat.

Earlier in the month we revealed that Dragon Ball Z Kai will be shown as a special ‘Preview Event’ from boxing day for three days straight, well since then Kix TV released a new TV Advert showcasing that Dragon Ball Z Kai, along with Digimon: Data Squad and Power Rangers, would be shown as the early morning line-up, however a timeslot for each shown wasn’t revealed.

After some digging on the Kix TV Website, under the What’s On Section, it turns out that 4 episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai will be shown per day.

Starting at 8am, as part of the early morning line-up, an episode of Dragon Ball Z Kai will be shown, then another episode will be shown at 6pm. At 9pm both episodes will be repeated in an hour long timelot, thus offering viewers a ‘catch-up’ in preperation for the next day’s episodes.

Looking through the site suggests that, for now, this is the line-up that Dragon Ball Z Kai will follow until someone at Kix TV decides to change it, either way – having it this way means that a lot of people will be able to watch the show at different times during the day.
