Kill La Kill – Box 3 Delayed Once Again; This Time it’s an Issue with the Packaging

Despite having advanced copies available to sell at this past weekends London MCM Comic Con Anime Limited have today announced, via their weekly newswire post, that the UK DVD and Blu-ray release for Kill La Kill – Box 3 will be delayed once again.

This reason for this is because early adaptors of the set have found it difficult to remove the artbook and the carded-styled-case (which holds the discs) from the thin chipboard packaging. Ironically this packaging defect has nothing to do with the Collectors Box (which holds all three parts of the set) which had previously caused delays due to not being produced in time. Whats even more confusing about this situation is that Anime Limited had no issues with the inital test mold they received from the production company, so this issue has really come by surprise. All The Anime Begins The Gurren Lagann Digipack Replacement Program

gurren_lagann_review_screenshot (1)

All The Anime have recently announced that they are now ready to begin issuing digipack replacements to those effected by the disc tray issue; something which we reported on last month.

Basically if you purchased a copy of Gurren Lagann – Ultimate Edition and found that the disc tray had been incorrectly placed, or fallen off completely, then you are entitled to a free replacement. In order to do this you are urged to follow the steps provided in this recent post on All The Anime’s blog, or as shown below:

1. Mail kerry@ (minus the space) with a quick shot of the digipack (don’t worry if glued back already and concerned, we’ll understand). If possible too send a proof of purchase – just an Amazon order confirmation or such – don’t worry if you can’t find your receipt!

2. Fill in the survey here:

3. Wait: First shipment will be 2 weeks from today then every two weeks until end of year, afterwards we’ll keep processing on a month by month basis as we’d expect most of those impacted to be covered by the end of the year here.

You’ll get a confirmation as soon as the digipack is sent out so fear not!

It’s only been a couple of weeks since the issue was first spotted, so it’s nice that All The Anime are doing ‘everything’ they can to offer replacements; although in reality it should never have happened in the first place but things like this do happen from time-to-time.

Manga Entertainment UK To Consider Releasing Blu-rays in FR4ME Cases

Earlier today Jerome from Manga Entertainment UK went to twitter to seek advice regarding a possible change in Blu-ray, maybe even DVD, packaing design as some new options have become available when it comes to distributing titles.

As you already know most Movie / TV Distributors use standard amaray DVD and Blu-ray cases, with the only variety being it’s colour and thickness, well recently some movie companies, such as Universals release of Obilivion, have started using the futuristic styled FR4ME cases. They are plasic cases which, if distributed effectively, can be a new stylish way of releasing titles and that’s actually what Jerome from Manga Entertainment is considering. Read more of this post
