MVM Entertainment have today revealed, via their online store Anime-On-Line, their Q4 release schedule for anime titles coming out between October and December of this year.

As you would expect the line-up is pretty solid, with at least one title coming out each week from the distributor, however only two of these releases will be made available on Blu-ray – which is sure to annoy some anime fans out there (including myself). Read more of this post

Plot: In 1967, mankind encountered the hostile alien BETA and the Space Race became a Space War. Despite every measure thrown against them, the BETA made their first deadly landings on Earth in 1973 and by 1998, half of Eurasia has fallen.

While the rest of the world stages desperate defensive battles across a thousand fronts, a brutally savaged Japan barely manages to hang on thanks to the support of the United States, the UN, and a new form of robot/jet hybrid known as the Tactical Surface Fighter.

But even as pilots and engineers struggle to develop the newest generation of advanced weaponry, the vestiges of the Cold War threaten to cripple the efforts of the defenders, with the surviving nations fighting to prioritize their own survival. At the eye of the gathering storm, the actions of 2nd Lieutenant Yuuya Bridges of the U.S. and First Lieutenant Yui Takamura, the sole survivor of a unit lost in the battle of Kyoto, may become the focus upon which the fate of all humanity depends.

MVM Entertainment have revealed, through an article in the latest issue of NEO Magazine, that they will be releasing Log Horizon & Muv Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse onto DVD and Blu-ray next year.

Following the reveal in the Magazine, which of course generated interest from fans, MVM Entertainment then took to facebook to confirm the announcement:

For those of you yet to read the newest issue of NEO magazine, we announced two new titles for next year – Log Horizon, and Muv Luv Alternative Total Eclipse. These will both be released in Spring and Summer as two sets, on both DVD & BD.

Exact release specifics, such as a date, have yet to be confirmed but what we do know is that Log Horizon and Muv Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse will be available in both English and Japanese with English Subtitles but more importantly both series will be released on DVD and Blu-ray. Furthermore both Log Horizon and Muv Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse will be released in Part (or Collection) instalments; just like they were in America.

MVM Entertainment will confirm further release plans for these titles in the coming months; but at least we know that some interesting titles lie-in-wait for next year.
