MVM Entertainment Unveils it’s Q4 2017 Release Schedule

With the final quarter of 2017 fast approaching (where did the time go?) UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment have opted to update their online web-store Anime-On-Line with their current release line-up of Q4 2017 titles; with other retailers such as Amazon, Base and Zavvi expected to follow shortly.

Synopsis:

Even in the face of annihilation by the invading BETA forces, the persistent hostilities between the surviving nations continue to undermine mankind’s chances for survival. Desperate to gain the Type 99, the Soviet Command puts not only their own pilots but the rest of the human race on the firing line as they sabotage the Kamchatka base self-destruct codes in an attempt to salvage the railgun for their own purposes.

Caught in the crossfire, Yuuya, Yui, and the other TSF pilots must fight their way to safety through a nightmarish series of traps and counter-traps before the base is bombed or the BETA take them all. Only a series of heroic sacrifices can save them, and that’s just the beginning of the danger. The mysterious arrival of an unidentified TSF and an escalating competition to dominate the new world’s power and military structures ignite a new chain of events that further threaten to undercut humanity’s chances.

It’s amusing how a visual novel game inspired an animated spin-off seeing giant mecha and aliens do battle against each other; but nevertheless here we are with MVM Entertainment’s DVD release of Muv Luv Alternate: Total Eclipse – Part 1.

Synopsis:

In 1967, mankind encountered the hostile alien BETA and the Space Race became a Space War. Despite every measure thrown against them, the BETA made their first deadly landings on Earth in 1973 and by 1998, half of Eurasia has fallen. While the rest of the world stages desperate defensive battles across a thousand fronts, a brutally savaged Japan barely manages to hang on thanks to the support of the United States, the UN, and a new form of robot/jet hybrid known as the Tactical Surface Fighter.

But even as pilots and engineers struggle to develop the newest generation of advanced weaponry, the vestiges of the Cold War threaten to cripple the efforts of the defenders, with the surviving nations fighting to prioritize their own survival. At the eye of the gathering storm, the actions of 2nd Lieutenant Yuuya Bridges of the U.S. and First Lieutenant Yui Takamura, the sole survivor of a unit lost in the battle of Kyoto, may become the focus upon which the fate of all humanity depends.
