The Light Cinema Chain to Host Anime Movie Season

The Light cinema chain, which has a selection of cinemas across the UK in locations such as Cambridge, Sheffield and Stockport, have announced that they will be screening a selection of anime films between March and May; with titles including Dragon Ball Super: Broly the Movie, When Marnie Was There and fan-favourite Studio Ghibli films such as Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro. Following on from the news last week that Anime Limited will screen Mari Okada’s directorial debut Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms at the Glasgow Film Festival, with further screenings to take place within the UK shortly later, new listing on the Glasgow Film Festival website have revealed that the Attack on Titan Season 2 recap film, known as Attack On Titan: The Roar of Awakening, and STUDIOPONOC’s fantasy-adventure-film Mary and The Witch’s Flower, will also be shown around a similar time. Mary and the Witch’s Flower UK Theatrical Release Date Confirmed Alongside Extended Trailer

Late last year AnimeNewsNetwork reported that Studio Ponoc’s featured length animated film Mary and the Witch’s Flower would receive a theatrical release within the UK during 2018.

Well today that rumour has become fact as Altitude Films, the UK Distributor for the film, have confirmed that Mary and the Witch’s Flower will be available in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on the 18th May 2018. Read more of this post
