Unboxing: Code Geass R2: Lelouch of the Rebellion – Season 2 (Blu-ray) [UK]

The second season of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, also known as Code Geass R2, is now officially available for purchase within the UK and since Jeremy from Manga Entertainment UK has yet to do an unboxing video of this particular Blu-ray release we’ve decided to release one.

Code Geass R2: Lelouch of the Rebellion – Season 2 features similar traits to that seen in Season 1, as it features two blu-ray discs inside a single slimline case which is then covered by a carded sleeve. Futhermore all 25 episodes of Season 2 are spread across two blu-ray discs, Its neat, its tidy and strangely enough it works.

The only real downside to this Blu-ray release is the fact that the disc’s do not contain any extra features other than the three trailers at the beginning of each disc, unlike the DVD release which features the textless songs and commentaries. Either way its nice to finally see Code Geass getting the High definition treatment it deserves.

Code Geass R2: Lelouch of the Rebellion – Season 2 is now available to purchase within the UK via Manga Entertainment UK and Kaze UK.

Code Geass – Season 1 (And Season 2) Blu-ray Boxarts Revealed

Kaze UK, in conjunction with Manga Entertainment UK, have recently put up the Blu-ray releases of the iconic clamp series, Code Geass, up for pre-order and with it the ‘final’ box-art for each series has been revealed, both of which are displayed below.

Season 1:

Season 2:

Eagle eyed readers may notice that both Blu-ray Boxsets feature the entire 25 Episode Series (and hopefully some extras) over 2 Blu-ray Discs, which compared to FUNimation in America, who release 26 Episodes over 3 Blu-ray Discs, seems a bit strange.

After speaking with Kaze UK on Twitter, they confirmed that it is ‘not’ a miss-print and that 2 ‘Dual-Layered’ Blu-ray Discs offer ‘enough’ space on the disc for all of the episodes and does not effect the picture (or sound) quality of the final product, additionally this is how Kaze France released the product, in France, earlier in the year.

Code Geass Season 1 will be released on Blu-ray (and DVD) from the 21st January 2013, while Code Geass Season 2 will be released on Blu-ray (and DVD) from the 11th March 2013 – both Boxsets are available to pre-order and have an ‘estimated’ retail price of around £40.
