Toei Launches Toei Tokusatsu World Official Channel to Stream Classic TV Shows with English Subtitles

Toei Company have announced that classic live-action Japanese TV shows, such as National Kid, Suki Suki Majo Sensei, Robot 8-chan and Magical Girl Chukana Paipai, will be streamed in English on the brand new streaming channel known as Toei Tokusatsu World Official Channel. Read more of this post

Flowering Heart, Record of Grancrest War & Samurai 7 Added to Netflix UK

It is the first of the month and as many Netflix subscribers may know it is when ‘big content drops’ take place and this month is no exception; as the video-on-demand streaming platform have added Flowering Heart, Record of Grancrest War and Samurai 7 to its anime related streaming line-up. MECHA-UDE: Mechanical Arms, a new anime project fronted by Japanese anime creator Sae Okamoto, has recently appeared on Kickstarter; with it the ambition of creating a single OVA Styled episode with the possibility of a series being produced depending on the success of this animation. Set in a fictional futuristic modern day world MECHA-UDE will follow the activities of an ordinary high-schooler who, after interacting with a mechanical arm, finds himself at the centre of attention for those interested in the arm. Anime Limited Store To Distribute Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origins Within UK

Anime Limited have today announced that they will be acting as the UK Distributor for the upcoming Blu-ray release of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origins, or more precisely Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origins – Volume 1: Blue Eyed Casval.

Unfortunately this is where it gets complicated; unlike traditional releases Anime Limited will not be distributing the film into UK retailers, such as Amazon, Zavvi and HMV; instead fans will have to buy it directly from the Anime Limited Store. The reason for this is because Anime Limited will be distributing the Limited Edition Japanese Blu-ray release of the film; a film which will not only feature both English and Japanese audio options but will be completely region free as well. UK Blu-ray Release of Space Pirate Captain Harlock To Include Japanese Edit on DVD

In a relatively interesting, but potentially disappointing, announcement Manga Entertainment UK have explained that the 3D Blu-ray release of Space Pirate Captain Harlock will include the ‘International’ version of the film in High Definition where as the ‘Japanese Edit’ of the film, along with 40 minutes of bonus materials, will be included on a seperate DVD.
