Anime Limited Licenses Castle Town Dandelion for Simulcast on Viewster; Home Video Release to Follow Next Year


Earlier in the week Anime Limited announced that they had licensed Aoharu x Kikanju for Simulcast on the free global streaming service Viewster; and today that trend continues with Castle Town Dandelion (also known as Jōkamachi no Dandelion)- another series which will be simulcast on Viewster for the UK. Harlock Space Pirate To Receive a Limited Theatrical Release Next Month


Manga Entertainment have today revealed that the CGI film adapatation of Captain Harlock, entitled Harlock Space Pirate, will be receiving a limited theatrical release before the film is released onto DVD and Blu-ray next month.

Although Manga UK have yet to confirm which cinemas will show the film, which we blieve it will be selective Picturehouse Cinemas across the UK, the distributor has confirmed that it will be available in those cinemas from the 22nd April 2015; with the film itself to be released on DVD and Blu-ray the following Monday. FUNimation To Work Directly with Studio Khara for Evangelion 3.33’s English Release


FUNimation have recently announced that they will be working with Studio Khara, the Japanese studio who originally produced the film, so that an English version of Evangelion 3.33: You Can (Not) Redo can be produced.

We are working directly with the Japanese studio and the original creator on the upcoming Evangelion 3.33 home video release. This is a unique opportunity that presented itself to us, and since the plot for Evangelion 3.33 is so different from previous story lines, we are thrilled that the creator has asked to be so heavily involved in this project.

It’s never been fully explained as to whats been happening with the English release; but rumours suggest that the Japanese Studios were unhappy with the English Dub that FUNimation had produced and as a result the Japanese licensors asked for the English Dub to be altered. As a result of these alterations storyline elements that the Japanese Studios wanted fans of the franchise to see were lost. Read more of this post

All The Anime Acquries Giovanni’s Island for Theatrical and Home Video Release


UK Anime Distributor All The Anime, previously known as Anime Limited, have today announced that they have acquried the UK distribution license for Giovanni’s Island, a feature-length animated film directed by Mizuho Nishikubo and produced by Production I.G, for home video and theatrical release.

Based on true events, and created by the same studio behind A Letter To Momo, Giovanni’s Island sees two boys, Junpei and Kanta, living within the war torn island of Shikotan as they and the residents become acustomed to all of the new changes taking place; changes which sees two different nations of people becoming acustomed to each other despite all of the tensions in the air. It’s a dramatic story and one that sees imagination and open-minds bring new possibilities for the characters. Read more of this post
