Anime Weekend Cinema Listings Confirmed for BFI Southbank June 2016

The BFI Southbank London have confirmed their line-up of films for the June 2016 Anime weekend taking place between the 3rd and 5th June 2016; and it’s a pretty strong line-up of feature length anime movies – especially if you like Sci-Fi films.

As part of the weekend attendees will be able to watch Empire of Corpses, which previously made its appearence at MCM Loves Anime last year, alongside The Boy and his Beast, Psycho-Pass: The Movie, Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie as well as the original Ghost in the Shell. Read more of this post

Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie to be released on Blu-ray & DVD in May

In a surprising, but unsurprising announcement, UK Distributor Manga Entertainment UK have revealed that they will be releasing the new Ghost in the Shell movie, which follows on from the events of the Ghost in the Shell: Arise OVA episodes, on Blu-ray and DVD within the UK later this year.

Currently scheduled for release on the 9th May 2016 the film will be available on both DVD and Blu-ray formats in English and Japanese; with the English dub once again being provided by FUNimation Entertainment. Selection of Newer Manga UK Titles Arrive on Netflix UK

If you are currently a Netflix UK subscriber and are a fan of anime then prepare for some exciting news; as starting from today a selection of newer Manga Entertainment UK titles will be available stream on Netflix UK as part of your subscription; that is according to a Netflix UK facebook page.

  • Attack on Titan (Season 1)
  • Black Butler (Season 2)
  • Blue Exorcist
  • Death Note
  • Ghost in the Shell (Movie)
  • High School of the Dead
  • Psycho Pass (Season 1)
  • Vampire Knight (Season 1 + 2).
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! (Season 2)

These new additions join the already ‘impressive’ back-catalogue of anime titles on service, titles such as Highschool DxD, Yu-Gi-Oh! (Season 1) and Kill-La-Kill. It’s currently unknown if more titles will appear on the service, or for how long they will be available, but if you are a subscriber then it’s definately worth checking out while you’ve got the chance.

25th Anniversary Poster Unveiled for Ghost In The Shell’s Theatrical Run

In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Mamoru Oshi’s Ghost in the Shell film, and to promote it’s limited run in Picture House cinemas, Manga Entertainment UK have created a quad poster.

The Poster, which is seen below, has been designed to not only promote the limited Theatrical run of Ghost in the Shell but it is also designed to celebrate it’s 25th Anniversary and as such the artwork matches that of the Blu-ray steelbook release. Read more of this post

Manga UK Industry Panel Announcement Round-Up from Manchester MCM Comic Con 2014

The venue for the Manchester MCM Comic Con, formly known as MCM Expo, may be rather small compared to the one in London; but that doesn’t stop Manga Entertainment UK from coming out in force; as not only did they have a ‘respectable’ sized shop with some ‘superb’ deals but they also hosted their own industry panel with a slew of new announcements.

Most of the news shared on the industry panel were ‘re-confirmations’ of things that had been mentioned previously before; such as the release of Ghost in The Shell, Ghost in the Shell: Arise and Attack on Titan; but new announcements were made in the form of Netflix streaming exclusive Harlock and the anime adaptation of Platinum Games Bayonetta franchise; Bayonetta: Bloody Fate. Of course these were not the only announcements; as you shall find out below:

Ghost In The Shell To Receive Limited Theatrical Run in Picture House Cinemas Across the UK

To celebrate the arrival of the ‘original’ Ghost in The Shell movie on Blu-ray Manga Entertainment UK have teamed-up with Picture House Cinemas across the UK to offer fans the chance to see the film on the big screen.

The version shown in cinemas (and being released onto Blu-ray) is the ‘original’ film re-mastered in High Definition and as such differs from the 2.0 version of Ghost in the Shell that was released several years ago on both DVD and Blu-ray.

As it stands 13 Picturehouse Cinemas across the UK will be showing the film; each of which will be showing the film at 9pm on the 27th September 2014 – which is three days before the film is released onto Blu-ray. UK Exclusive Ghost In The Shell Blu-ray Steelbook Teased in Trailer

Ghost_in_the_Shell_Complete_3d_steelbook_promo1File this under ‘very’ late, as the trailer became available two weeks ago, but UK Anime distributor Manga Entertainment UK have released a trailer which teases the upcoming UK Exclusive Blu-ray Steelbook release of the classic Sci-Fi anime movie, Ghost in The Shell.

There is not a lot to say, as the trailer is a 3D Artists impression of what the steelbook case will look like with both inside and outside artwork show. Once the ‘case’ has been shown then a clip of the newly remastered film is shown. Read more of this post

Manga Entertainment UK’s Entire Q3 Release Line-Up Outed by Anime-On-Line

It looks like someone jumped the gun at the Anime-On-Line Website as all of Manga Entertainment UK’s Q3 / Third Quarter release line-up has been revealed, and more importantly they are all available to pre-order.

All of the titles listed below have previously been announced before, so there is no ‘surprises’ in store, however its assumed that these release dates would have been revealed at the upcoming London MCM Comic-Con.
