Animatsu and MangaUK Industry Panel Announcements from MCM London Comic Con October 2016

Animatsu and Manga Entertainment UK were once again in full swing at this past weekends MCM London Comic Con event as not only did the distributor put on a show with their own Karaoke Stage, of which seemed to be insanely busy throughout the weekend; but the UK Anime Distributors opted to announce their new titles at their own stage – as a traditional panel – as opposed to having it take place within one of the theatre’s scattered around the event. Ghost in the Shell UK Cinema Locations Confirmed

Following on from the recent success of AKIRA in cinemas across the UK the anime distributor Manga Entertainment UK have now confirmed that Mamoru Oshii’s cyberpunk thriller Ghost in the Shell will receive the same treatment on the 25th January 2017; with tickets now available to pre-book on the official website. Anime Weekend Cinema Listings Confirmed for BFI Southbank June 2016

The BFI Southbank London have confirmed their line-up of films for the June 2016 Anime weekend taking place between the 3rd and 5th June 2016; and it’s a pretty strong line-up of feature length anime movies – especially if you like Sci-Fi films.

As part of the weekend attendees will be able to watch Empire of Corpses, which previously made its appearence at MCM Loves Anime last year, alongside The Boy and his Beast, Psycho-Pass: The Movie, Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie as well as the original Ghost in the Shell. Read more of this post

Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie to be released on Blu-ray & DVD in May

In a surprising, but unsurprising announcement, UK Distributor Manga Entertainment UK have revealed that they will be releasing the new Ghost in the Shell movie, which follows on from the events of the Ghost in the Shell: Arise OVA episodes, on Blu-ray and DVD within the UK later this year.

Currently scheduled for release on the 9th May 2016 the film will be available on both DVD and Blu-ray formats in English and Japanese; with the English dub once again being provided by FUNimation Entertainment. Selection of Newer Manga UK Titles Arrive on Netflix UK

If you are currently a Netflix UK subscriber and are a fan of anime then prepare for some exciting news; as starting from today a selection of newer Manga Entertainment UK titles will be available stream on Netflix UK as part of your subscription; that is according to a Netflix UK facebook page.

  • Attack on Titan (Season 1)
  • Black Butler (Season 2)
  • Blue Exorcist
  • Death Note
  • Ghost in the Shell (Movie)
  • High School of the Dead
  • Psycho Pass (Season 1)
  • Vampire Knight (Season 1 + 2).
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! (Season 2)

These new additions join the already ‘impressive’ back-catalogue of anime titles on service, titles such as Highschool DxD, Yu-Gi-Oh! (Season 1) and Kill-La-Kill. It’s currently unknown if more titles will appear on the service, or for how long they will be available, but if you are a subscriber then it’s definately worth checking out while you’ve got the chance.

25th Anniversary Poster Unveiled for Ghost In The Shell’s Theatrical Run

In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Mamoru Oshi’s Ghost in the Shell film, and to promote it’s limited run in Picture House cinemas, Manga Entertainment UK have created a quad poster.

The Poster, which is seen below, has been designed to not only promote the limited Theatrical run of Ghost in the Shell but it is also designed to celebrate it’s 25th Anniversary and as such the artwork matches that of the Blu-ray steelbook release. Read more of this post
