Anime Limited To Re-Author & Re-Release Durarara Blu-ray Set, DVD Release Delayed Until Further Notice

Durarara_anime_limited_screenshot

It seems Anime Limited have decided to take action against all of the complaint’s received regarding their Durarara Blu-ray release as the UK Distributor have announced that they will re-author and re-release the Durarara Blu-ray set while the DVD version of the series will be delayed until further notice.

We’ve taken the decision to re-author the discs for fans in the UK! We don’t want anyone feeling unhappy and anyone who orders it will get replacement discs per show from us that needs them as soon as it’s done.

Nobody likes a broken product on the market and we’re not happy about that, nor is Siren in Australia for that matter.

This whole issue started when reviewers (such as ourselves) informed Anime Limited that their Blu-ray release of the series had missing sign track subtitles and a few subtitling issues, such as subtitles disappearing from the screen (if you read our review then you may already be aware of these issues). Anime Limited Unboxes the Limited Edition Durarara Blu-ray Set

durarara_bluray_artwork_uk

As promised last week Anime Limited, also known as All The Anime, have today released a short unboxing video for their Limited Edition Blu-ray release of Durarara!! – The Complete Series, a title for which we published a review for earlier today.

While our opinions on the “on-disc” content are mixed (lack of on-disc extras and subtitle issues) we can’t argue about the packaging or it’s presentation, as judging from the unboxing video it is top-quality, something which Anime Limited always manages to pull off. As shown in the video included in this Limited Edition Blu-ray set, which is limited t 3,000 copies, is the complete series on four Blu-ray discs, special digi-pack packaging and a selection of art-cards.

Durarara!! – The Complete Series will be released on Blu-ray on the 24th March 2014, with a DVD version to follow in the coming months.

Durarara_screenshot (1)

It’s been quite a while since Durarara, or DRR for short, has been available in the UK and now that it’s back we have been treated not only to an English Dub but a High Definition Blu-ray version as well, so what can we expect from this Anime Limited release of Durarara Blu-ray? Find out in our Blu-ray Review of Durarara – The Complete Series.

Synopsis:

Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Mikado Ryugamine is a young man who yearns for the city like no other. At the invitation of his childhood friend, Masaomi Kida, he leaves his hometown and enters Raira Academy in Ikebukuro. Masaomi warns Mikado about the mysterious organization of unknown origin known as the “Dollars” and some dangerous people in Ikebukuro to watch out for. In particular: the brawling champion Shizuo Heiwajima and hobbyist information broker Izaya Orihara.

On his first day out in the city, Mikado, remembering another of Masaomi’s stories, sees a jet-black motorcycle being driven by the fabled “Headless Rider.” From then on, a series of random attacks and events begins to occur on the streets of Ikebukuro, and a group known as the Yellow Scarves arises as Ikebukuro begins to crumble! New Anime Licenses Unveiled for 2014 Release by Anime Limited & Manga Entertainment

space_dandy_banner

Earlier in the week a variety of new Anime Licenses for UK Distribution were unveiled, some were revealed in the latest Issue of NEO Magazine (on sale now) while others were revealed in the latest, Christmas themed, Manga UK podcast.

Interestingly some of the titles have already been announced, but majority of them are brand new announcements – so it seems that 2014 will be a great year for anime fans, but what exactly can we expect – well lets take a look:

Anime Limited:

Durarara!! (Format: Blu-ray & DVD, ETA March 2014)
Nerima Daikon Brothers (Format: TBC, ETA: April 2014)
Gurren Lagann (Format: Blu-ray & DVD, ETA: April 2014)

Manga Entertainment UK:

Karneval (Format: TBC, ETA: 2014)
Jormungand (Format: TBC, ETA: 2014)
Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero (Format: DVD, ETA: 2014)
High School DxD (Format: Blu-ray & DVD, ETA: 2014)
The Devil is a Part-Timer! (Format: Blu-ray & DVD, ETA: 2014)
Fairy Tail Movie (Format: Blu-ray & DVD, ETA: 2014)
One Piece – Collections 5 to 8 (Format: DVD, ETA: 2014)
Naruto Shippuden (Format: DVD, ETA: 2014)

Majority of the anime listed above will most likely be released during the second half of 2014, especially for Manga Entertainment’s list of titles, as the distributor is already releasing a ton of anime during the first two quarters of 2014 – including Blu-ray versions of Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online and Magi as well as DVD releases of Dragon Ball GT, One Piece and Naruto.

MVM Entertainment have yet to unveil a list of their 2014 anime, but they will be releasing a variety of anime within the next few weeks including Hakuoki, Infinite Stratos and Is This a Zombie of the Dead – all of which will only be released on DVD.

Anime Limited Unveil’s Their Own English-Dubbed Durarara!! Trailer

It seem’s Anime Limited have been busy in the background, as not only have their been announcing new anime licenses over the past few weeks but they have also put together, and released, an English-Dubbed trailer for Durarara!!

Anime Limited will be releasing Durarara!! onto Blu-ray and DVD within the UK next year, but more importantly it’s the first time that the English-Dubbed version has been released onto UK Shores, so fans of the series are very excited – and after watching this trailer you should be.

Durarara!! will be released onto Blu-ray and DVD during 2014, with an exact release date yet to be confirmed.

Anime Limited Acquries Durarara!! for UK DVD & Blu-ray Distribution

Durarara_anime_limited_screenshot

Anime Limited have today, via their Facebook and Twitter accounts, that they have acquired the UK DVD & Blu-ray Distribution rights for popular (but relatively unknown) anime series Durarara!!

To add more ‘excitement’ to the news this release of the series will feature the English Dub Audio track, something has never been released so far within the UK. Beez Entertainment previously had the UK distribution rights to Durarara!! and when it was originally released it only came with a Japanese Audio track and shortly after release an English Dub was produced. Basically its similar to what happened with Blue Exorcist but longer part.

According to Anime Limited Durarara!! will be released in two DVD/Blu-ray Hybrid sets, which suggests a Blu-ray & DVD Combo Pack like that of Kaze’s releases, with the first half of the series being released in 2014, with more details such as pricing and artwork to be revealed later in the year.
