Kill_la_Kill_Ep1_04

We’ve known for awhile that All The Anime currently has the UK distribution license for Kill La Kill and as of late the series has appeared on Netflix as part of it’s streaming service; what we don’t know however is how the series will be released within the UK and what it will contain.

Well fortunately for us All The Anime have answered our thoughts as yesterday on their official website they confirmed that the series will be released in three ‘part’ instalments, and this first instalment will be priced at an RRP of £59.99 (Blu-ray) and £49.99 (DVD) and come bundled with a 188-page artbook and  housed inside a rigid chipboard artbox. UK Anime Distributor All The Anime, also known as Anime Limited, have been rather quiet as a late but they are today back with a vengeance as they have revealed the finalised artwork for their upcoming Collectors Edition Blu-ray / DVD Combo Pack release of HAL, an anime film being released later this year.

Just like previous releases this Collectors Edition will come in a rigid chipboard artbox which features some unique manga styled artwork from the film while the carded slip-case on the inside will feature the traditional anime artwork; and more importantly the same front cover used by FUNimation in america. All The Anime Clarifies Content Included with Gurren Lagann: Ultimate Blu-ray Edition Collection

gurren_lagann_screenshot_simon_kamiya

It’s been awhile since we last heard from All The Anime, also known as Anime Limited, about their upcoming ‘Ultimate Edition’ release of Gurren Lagann on Blu-ray and today the UK Anime Distributor has broke it’s silence to reveal some interesting and exciting, but potentially disappointing news.

First of all the release has been pushed back once again until the 29th September 2014; which means an additional five weeks waiting for those that are eager to get their hands on it – such as ourselves. The reason for this delay is because All The Anime only received the “GO AHEAD” from the Japanese licensor last week regarding artwork used within the art-book and since it takes around 5 weeks for the materials to be created the entire set has to be pushed back slightly. Spirited Away and Hayao Miyazaki Blu-ray Sets Spotted on Amazon UK

1083_019812B.jpgIf you are currently waiting for the next ‘high definition’ Studio Ghibli film to add to your collection then prepare to get excited; as Amazon UK have recently listed not one but two very special Blu-ray sets.

First up is the long overdue Blu-ray release of Spirited Away, a film which is one of my personal favourites, which is currently priced at £24.99 and is scheduled for release on the 3rd November 2014. The second title to be released is actually a Hayao Miyazaki box set; a set celebrating the works of Hayao Mizyazaki’s by containing a variety of Studio Ghibli films that he has worked on; this particular set comes with a listing price of £249.99, which is far more expensive than any other anime release i’ve seen, and will also be released on the 3rd November 2014.

Details are scarce for both releases but judging from UK Anime Network they assume that the Hayao Miyazaki set will be ‘identical’ to the one released in Japan several months ago; whereby the set would contain all of the films that Miyazaki has been involved with as well as a variety of short films and bonus content.

Eitherway both Spirited Away and the Hayao Miyazaki sets are coming to the UK on Blu-ray and will be distributed by STUDIOCANAL; the current UK distributor for Studio Ghibli films, on the 3rd November 2014.
