Cartoon Network UK, the headline Cartoon Network Satellite channel, will soon be broadcasting the latest generation of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series in the form of Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal.
For those unaware of Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal is a series that features new characters, new cards and new abilities, however the objective of becoming the ‘duellist champion’ still remains the same. In Zexal viewers follow the story of aspiring young duelist Yuma Tsukumo, who, after attempting to defeat his arch rival in a duel, encounters a mysterious duel spirit called Astral. Astral is currently looking for his lost memories, which are currently stored in the form of new Xyz dueling Cards. After enlisting the help of Yuma and his friends, they now begin a quest to find all of the Xyz cards as well as allowing Yuma to continue chasing his dream of becoming duellist champion. It’s a new twist on the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise and now it’s finally available for viewing on UK TV.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal start’s airing on Tuesday 30th July 2013 at 6:30pm on Cartoon Network (Sky Channel 601) with new episodes being shown every weekday at 6:30pm. Despite the series being broadcast in HD (over in Japan at least) the series will not be shown in HD in the UK, so some viewers may wish to change to the Standard Definition version of Cartoon Network.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal isn’t the only Yu-Gi-Oh! series on TV Either, as Kix (Sky Channel 627) is still showing episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX with episodes currently running up to the end of the Scared Beats / Shadow Riders Storyline.
