Anime Limited Announcements from MCM Comic-Con Glasgow 2015

What expected to be a rather quiet weekend MCM Comic-Con Glasgow turned into a world of excitement for anime fans; as Anime Limited took to the stage as part of a panel to reveal a small selection of new anime licenses and some surprises for those attending MCM London next month.

For starters Anime Limited revealed that they have secured the UK Distribution licenses to The Rolling Girls, Assassination Classroom and K: Missing Kings with each title expected for release next year on DVD and Blu-ray. The distributor also revealed that they had licensed K: Return of Kings for a UK release at some point in the future with the series also being streamed for free on Viewster. Read more of this post

MVM Entertainment Announcements at London MCM Comic Con May 2015

With Animatsu, Anime Limited and Manga Entertainment UK opting to announce their new titles through Industry Panels throughout the Comic Con weekend MVM Entertainment UK opted to take a different approach and announce their new titles through social media – which ultimately led to some confusion and disappointment.

As it stands MVM Entertainment only have three anime titles heading out for the Q3, and potentially Q4, release window; however amongst (we assume) some criticism the distributor announced that they had signed another seventeen titles for release next year – which is quite an impressive amount. Anime Limited & Viewster Industry Panel Announcements at London MCM Comic Con May 2015

During the course of the Comic Con weekend Anime Limited, along with their close-streaming-partners Viewsters, opted to do two panels; the first of which hosted on Friday afternoon saw Anime Limited provide further clarification on upcoming titles while the short panel on Saturday morning (which we recorded) saw a re-cap of license announcements as well as information regarding their partnership with Viewster. Manga UK Announcement Highlights from the MCM Birmingham Comic Con March 2014

It may not be as big as the MCM London Comic Con but Community Liaison Jeremy Graves from Manga Entertainment UK still managed to provide a few surprises at this years MCM Comic Con in Birmingham with a slew of announcements.

Usually we would have a rough idea of what to expect (Attack on Titan for instance) but today’s selection of announcements come as a bit of a surprise, as some of them have never been released into America yet.

First up was the confirmation that Manga UK have licensed One Piece: Strong World, the tenth One Piece film, for DVD and Blu-ray release in June 2014. Continuing on with the One Piece theme Jeremy confirmed that the first 9 One Piece films will be coming to the UK on DVD, all of which (excluding One Piece: Adventures in Alabasta) will be Subtitle only releases. The reason for this is because these One Piece films have NEVER been dubbed into English, as i said surprises are in-store. Read more of this post
