Animax UK Announces Closure of Streaming Platform

Five years ago the Columbia Pictures owned streaming service Animax UK began offering anime fans a place to watch simulcast streams as well as back-catalogue titles, with titles from KAZE, Manga Entertainment UK and Anime Limited being offered on the service; and Animax UK have now announced that as of 15th October 2018 the service will be discontinued and streams removed.

Scuzz TV Introduces Anime Movie Nights Throughout March

Scuzz TV, a Sky based music channel, have today announced that they have teamed-up with online streaming service Animax to show a variety of anime movies throughout March; with the first film being Mardock Scramble: The First Compression at 10pm on Thursday 5th March.

The good news is that the movies will be shown at around 10pm each week on Scuzz TV (Sky 367) which is a free Sky channel and does not require a Sky subscription; the bad news is that its the same films that have previously been shown on the Sony Movie Channel.

Gundam: Reconguista in G Coming to Animax UK This Week

Animax UK continues to ‘expand’ it’s streaming line-up as today the subscription-based streaming service have announced that they will shortly be adding Gundam: Reconguista in G, the latest instalment into the long-running Gundam franchise, as part of it’s service.

The seven existing episodes of the series will be available at to Stream for Animax UK subscribers from the 15th November 2014, at which point each week a new episode will be added to service as part of their simulcast streaming agreement. While the previous seven episodes will remain ‘restricted’ to just Animax UK subscribers it’s expected that new episodes will be available for non-subscribers to view that particular week; although this has yet to be clarified.

Interestingly Animax UK isn’t the only place to watch Gundam: Reconguista in G as at the moment as Anime Limited, via their Vimeo on Demand Channel, are allowing people to purchase the entire series as a digital download while Viewster are allowing UK viewers to watch the episodes on their streaming service.

Gundam: Reconguista in G will be available on Animax UK from the 15th November 2014, with a new episode added to the service each week afteer it airs in Japan.

Animax UK Streaming App Comes to PS4

Ever since Animax UK, the online subscription-based anime streaming service, launched their service onto the Playstation 3 several months ago fans have been asking for it to be released onto other platforms; well today (yesterday to be exact) that question has been answered as the Animax UK app is now available for the PS4. Animax UK currently offers a wide back-catalogue of VIZ Media distributed titles, such as Bleach, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, Black Lagoon and Bakuman, in addition to new releases including brand new episodes of Fairy Tail, Rail Wars and Persona 4 Golden: The Animation; each of which will be available to stream directly through the PS4 app.
