UK DVD Release of Battle Girls: Time Paradox Delayed Until February

Those looking forward to the upcoming UK DVD Release of Battle Girls: Time Paradox are in for some disappointing news; as the series has been delayed and it will now be released on the 16th February 2015.

MVM Entertainment have yet to provide a reason for the delay, but we assume it has something to do with the 8-Second cut that the series received from the BBFC.  Since the BBFC requested this 8-second cut (which we believe to be from Episode 3 during the bath scene) MVM can not use the disc masters that were originally authored by Madman Entertainment and so the discs (particular disc 1) have to be re-encoded and re-authored; all of which of course takes time and money.

Battle Girls: Time Paradox was originally due for release on the 26th January 2015; however due to this delay it is now scheduled for release on the 16th February 2015.

Manga UK Provides Clarification for Evangelion 3.33 Pre-Order Cancelations

Manga Entertainment UK have today issued a statement surrounding yesterday’s confusion of Evangelion 3.33 being cancelled; and just as we assumed Manga UK are still releasing the film into the UK but as no ‘definitive’ release date is available they have opted to cancel pre-orders for the time being.

“We regret to inform you that the scheduled release of Evangelion 3.33 – You Can (Not) Redo has been pushed back indefinitely. We can confirm that Manga Entertainment will still be releasing this title, but at present there is no confirmed release date. We apologise to our fans for this, but unfortunately this delay was unavoidable.”

It all started yesterday afternoon when Amazon UK sent out an e-mail to customers informing them that the UK Release of Evangelion 3.33 had been cancelled; a piece of news which not only enraged fans but caused an outcry on social media to the distributor. With MangaUK delaying titles, such as those seen yesterday, and reverting others to DVD-only its not surprising that fans would be concerned about this e-mail; however there is a perfectly good reason behind these pre-orders being cancelled – and it all goes back to FUNimation. Manga UK Confirms Alteration to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Complete Series Blu-ray Release

fma_part3_screenshot (4)

Manga Entertainment UK have today announced, via the latest podcast episode, that the previously confirmed complete Blu-ray box set of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood will now be released as two separate parts.

Originally the idea was for Manga UK to release the complete series on one eight-disc Blu-ray set, however due to distribution rights it will now be released over two four-disc Blu-ray sets, which mimic’s how the series was released in America last year. The first half of the series will contain Episodes 1 – 33 and it will be released on the 27th May 2013, where as the second half of the series will contain episodes 34 – 64 and it will be released on the 14th October 2013.

Furthermore the first half (i.e Part 1) will include a UK-Exclusive art box / carded sleeve which can fit both half-season sets into it, thus giving the impression that you own a complete series box set.

Both half-season sets will be priced at a SRP of £45.99, but online prices will be slightly cheaper and Manga UK will continue to release the individual volumes (parts) of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood at a SRP of £24.99, with Part 4 also being released on the 27th May 2013.

The first half of the series will be released on the 27th May 2013, but for the mean time Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood – Part 3, which contains Episodes 27 – 39, has today just been released onto Blu-ray (you can read our review here).
