Animatsu and MangaUK Industry Panel Announcements from MCM London Comic Con October 2016

Animatsu and Manga Entertainment UK were once again in full swing at this past weekends MCM London Comic Con event as not only did the distributor put on a show with their own Karaoke Stage, of which seemed to be insanely busy throughout the weekend; but the UK Anime Distributors opted to announce their new titles at their own stage – as a traditional panel – as opposed to having it take place within one of the theatre’s scattered around the event. Plot: Something sinister is growing in Academy City. The shadows are filled with whispers of a project to clone one of the super-powered students known as espers. Synopsis:

Misaka Mikoto, a middle-school girl with an amazing and highly-destructive ability to control electricity, is one of the top level espers in Academy City, a highly developed town populated by students with supernatural abilities.

Joined by her three very different girlfriends – her flirty roommate and skilled teleporting esper Kuroko, Kuroko’s innocent rookie partner at the local student-run law enforcing agency, Uiharu, and Uiharu’s best friend, Saten, who has no esper powers – Mikoto encounters various strange phenomena and eccentric people through her action-packed adventures in this exciting scientific town. Manga UK & Animatsu Q4 2015 Release Schedule Revealed

During the Manchester MCM Comic Con representatives for Manga Entertainment UK and Animatsu Entertainment made a slew of announcements; but surprisingly enough that wasn’t the full list.

For starters Boruto: Naruto The Movie, which will receive a cinema screening in October, was unveiled on social Media and before that Jerome mentioned on twitter that Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 3, Dragon Ball Z – Season 3 and One Piece Collection 12 would also be making their UK debut during the fourth quarter. Read more of this post

Animatsu & MangaUK Industry Panel Announcements at London MCM Comic Con May 2015

It’s been a year since Jerome Mazandarani, the previous head of acquisitions at Manga Entertainment UK and now CEO of his new company Animatsu Entertainment, took to the stage at the London MCM Comic Con to make announcements surrounding new anime licenses but he, along with his side-kick Andrew Hewson, were back in top form this weekend with wave-after-wave of glorious anime news – all of which you can see for yourself in our video of the panel.

Before we get to the important stuff there is some clarification involved; as this particular panel saw both Manga Entertainment UK and Animatsu Entertainment titles being announced by the same people – namely Jerome and Andrew. The reason for this, and its something that we have mentioned before, is that Animatsu Entertainment are not only a distributor (and/or licensor) but they will also act as promoter (and licensor) for Manga Entertainment UK. In other words this formula of seeing two different brand-names but one set of people announcing titles will most likely be here to stay from now on. Read more of this post
