25th Anniversary Poster Unveiled for Ghost In The Shell’s Theatrical Run

In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Mamoru Oshi’s Ghost in the Shell film, and to promote it’s limited run in Picture House cinemas, Manga Entertainment UK have created a quad poster.

The Poster, which is seen below, has been designed to not only promote the limited Theatrical run of Ghost in the Shell but it is also designed to celebrate it’s 25th Anniversary and as such the artwork matches that of the Blu-ray steelbook release. Read more of this post

UK Cinema Screenings for Akira’s 25th Anniversary Confirmed

It has been recently confirmed that the 25th Anniversary UK Cinema Screenings for Akira will be shown in Picture House Cinema’s across the UK, with the film being shown on the 13th July 2013.

Judging from the Cinema listings on the Picture House website, the film will only be shown ‘once’ at each cinema, so its probably worth pre-booking the tickets. For those unaware of what Akira is, then here is a quick Synopsis of the film.

Neo-Tokyo is about to E.X.P.L.O.D.E. Katsuhiro Otomo’s debut animated feature AKIRA had its Japanese premiere on 16th July 1988. We are very proud to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of what is undoubtedly, one of the most celebrated animated movies of all time. Voted by Empire readers as one of the top 100 best films ever and cited by everyone from James Cameron, Ridley Scott, Daft Punk and Kanye West as a massive influence on their work, AKIRA kick-started the anime business all over the world, opening the doors for everything from Pokémon to Princess Mononoke.

Akira Returns to UK Cinemas as part of 25th Anniversary Celebration

The ground breaking cyberpunk action anime film, Akira, will be returning to UK Cinemas next month as part of its 25h Anniversary celebration.

The film, directed by Katsuhiro Otomo’s, was originally released in 1988 and to celebrate it’s 25th Anniversary the film will have a limited-run screening across the UK starting from the 13th July 2013. Exact details, such as cinemas and screening dates, have to be yet confirmed, but it has been confirmed that the film will be promoted using a newly designed quad poster.

More details surrounding the screenings will be revealed later in the month, but in the meantime Akira is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
