Many years ago, nine humans were captured and transformed into cyborgs for the purposes of becoming agents of evil. Instead, they rebelled, becoming champions of justice anytime the earth was in need.

Now, in a post-9/11 world, the meaning of “justice” has become clouded. The cyborgs, untouched by time, and some without memory of their status as heroes, have since taken up lives as ordinary civilians. But when a mysterious force known only as “His Voice” compels people across the world to commit unspeakable acts of violence, even cyborg 009, Joe Shimamura, falls victim to the irresistible faceless power.

In an era when cyber-terrorism is rapidly advancing, how can the cyborgs combat an enemy that has no face, no weapons, and seemingly no motive?

—-NOTE—-

Anime Limited will be releasing this film in the UK as a ‘Collectors Edition’ Blu-ray at some point in the near future; alternatively the film is available from Madman Entertainment in Australia, which is of course Region B compatible. Furthermore both the UK and Australian release include the film in 3D; where as this US release is apparently 2D only.

Anime Limited’s Release of 009 Re:Cyborg Delayed Once Again

009RE_CYBORG_SCREENSHOT

It seems Anime Limited’s Collectors Edition release of 009 Re:Cyborg continues to run into troubles; as after previously being mentioned for a ‘TBC’ date in August within a previous newswire post the title is now listed for a TBC date in today’s latest newswire post and amongst many retailers.

Speculation on when this film will be released into the UK has already begun, with MVM Entertainment’s online store, Anime-On-Line, listing a 28th September 2015 release date for the Standard Edition DVD while Amazon UK lists a 7th December 2015 release date for the Collectors Edition Blu-ray.

As it stands however the title has been delayed and a new release date will be confirmed in due course.

Anime Limited Confirms 3D Blu-ray Release of 009 RE:Cyborg

009RE_CYBORG_SCREENSHOT
A few days ago Twitter User @Agent347 noticed that a listing for a Collectors Edition of the CGI animated film 009 RE:Cyborg had appeared on Amazon UK, with the distributor listed as 101 Anime, despite Anime Limited distributing it within UK Cinema’s earlier this year.

After confronting Anime Limited about the listing, they confirmed that the ‘Collectors Edition’ listing is correct, but it is themselves (Anime Limited) that will be releasing it and not 101 Films.

Basically after its successful stint at Cinemas, Anime Limited will be releasing 009 RE:Cyborg as a Collectors Edition Blu-ray / DVD Combo Pack. Exact details, such as special features or packaging details, have yet to be confirmed but we do know that it will include both the 3D and 2D versions of the film on Blu-ray Discs along with a separate DVD edition of the film.

The Collector’s Edition bundle of 009 RE: Cyborg Collector is currently listed for release on the 13th January 2014.
