Anime Limited’s Release of 009 Re:Cyborg Delayed Once Again

009RE_CYBORG_SCREENSHOT

It seems Anime Limited’s Collectors Edition release of 009 Re:Cyborg continues to run into troubles; as after previously being mentioned for a ‘TBC’ date in August within a previous newswire post the title is now listed for a TBC date in today’s latest newswire post and amongst many retailers.

Speculation on when this film will be released into the UK has already begun, with MVM Entertainment’s online store, Anime-On-Line, listing a 28th September 2015 release date for the Standard Edition DVD while Amazon UK lists a 7th December 2015 release date for the Collectors Edition Blu-ray.

As it stands however the title has been delayed and a new release date will be confirmed in due course.

Collectors Edition Blu-ray Packaging for Elfen Lied Revealed

Following on from Elfen Lied’s rather surprise Blu-ray reveal on Amazon UK a few months back 101 Anime have now surprised us again by unveiling the it’s packaging design; and it’s pretty impressive.

Currently viewable on Amazon UK this Collectors Edition Blu-ray release will arrive in a Metal Tin, as opposed to a steelbook, and include a booklet featuring artwork and information about the show. The discs themselves on the otherhand will feature the entire series (and its bonus OVA episode) in High Definition ; with the episodes themselves being available in English and Japanese Audio. 101 Films To Release Elfen Lied on Blu-ray as a Special Collectors Edition within the UK

elfen-lied-header

Although an official announcement has yet to be made by 101 Films a listing on Amazon UK reveals that this UK distirbutor will be releasing Elfen Lied on Blu-ray within the UK as a Special Collectors Edition set.

According to the listing this ‘Collectors Edition’ set will be released on the 27th July 2015 and contain the entire thirteen episode TV series along with the ‘missing’ OVA episodes; all of which will be presented in 1080p High Definition. In addition this set on-disc extras, such as production artwork and textless songs, and it will include a 36-page booklet, which we assume will contain bios and character artwork. All of the content, such as the Blu-ray Discs and 36-Page booklet, will come housed inside a unique metal case.

The current listing price for this set is £59.99, which we assume to be the RRP Price, and isn’t too bad considering Anime Limited’s Collectors Edition sets have been priced at around the same margin.

101 Films, who release anime titles as 101 Anime, have previously released Elfen Lied on DVD; other anime titles of theirs include Lady Death and RahXephon; both of which were pretty solid releases so we have high expectations of their debut anime blu-ray release.

Unboxing: RahXephon – The Complete Collection (DVD) [UK]

rahxephon_complete_unboxing

RahXephon – The Complete Collection is 101 Films second anime release and since we received our review copy we have decided to do an unboxing of it to showcase exactly what the set is like on the inside (and outside).

To start off with the Complete Collection consists of 8 DVD Discs, which contains all 26 episodes of the TV series as well as the feature length movie, and those familiar with Beez’s Anime Legends will be familiar with the style of the packaging, as all eight discs are inside one plastic box which is contained within a carded sleeve.

The Artwork itself is pretty basic, with the RahXephon mech (which reminds me of Doleres from Zone of the Enders TV Anime) on the front of the box as well as each of the discs, on the back is a list of each individual DVD volume (when originally released by ADV Films) and a brief overview of the series. As you can probably see from the video the box contains ADV Films logo (the original distributor of the series) as well as 101 Films logo.

As an ‘complete collection’ release its another rock solid performance from 101 Films, but we will take a closer look at that in our Review later in the month, for now though RahXephon – The Complete collection will be available on DVD from the 26th August 2013.

101 Films to Release RahXephon and Lady Death on DVD

RahXephon_wide

File this under slightly ‘old news’  but 101 Films, the distributor who released Elfen Lied earlier in the year, will shortly be releasing Lady Death and RahXephon later this year.

Both titles were originally released into the UK by ADV Films but now 101 Films will be re-releasing them into the UK, with both titles set to arrive on the 26th August 2013. Futhermore RahXephon will be released as a ‘complete collection’ with both the TV Series and Movie bundled into one box.

Lady Death:

Since Lady Death is a feature-length-movie based upon the US Comic Book, it will be presented on a single DVD Disc.

lady_death_boxart_smallHer legend begins in the 15th Century, stripped of her innocence through her father’s betrayal, a pious, young woman, Hope, is sentenced to a trial by fire. She reluctantly accepts Lucifer’s offer of life in hell over a hideous painful death. Lucifer’s offer takes a diabolical twist as she discovers her true origins and the existing fate of her lost love and departed mother.

Unable to corrupt a soul of such purity, Lucifer banishes Hope to the horrors of hell, where she must find the strength and courage to survive and ultimately return to free the souls of the ones she loves. Together with the valiant outcast, Cremator and her trusted companions, Vassago and the Nameless Wolves, she is transformed into the powerful warrior LADY DEATH and challenges the Lord of Lies for control of Hell itself.

RahXephon:

This 101 Films release of RahXephon will feature the entire series along with its feature length movie across a variety of DVD Discs.

RahXephon_boxart_smallIt is a new reality. For 15 years, the remnants of the human race have fought against the alien Mu and their unstoppable giant Dolem; a battle mankind seems destined to lose. But deep within the captured city of Tokyo, where time flows on a different path and mind-wiped citizens do not even know that they have been conquered, there is something that the Mu fears more than all of mankind’s weapons.

To find that secret, one young woman must penetrate the domed walls of Tokyo Jupiter and find a single young man, a young man upon whom the fate of all humanity depends… for in his heart lies the power of RahXephon, and with it all the worlds can be remade.

Lady Death and RahXephon are currently listed for release on the 26th August 2013 and both are currently available to pre-order from Anime-On-Line.
