Ascendance of a Bookworm – Season 1 & 2 UK Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray Delayed until September

In some rather expected news it has been confirmed that Anime Limited’s upcoming UK Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray release of Ascendance of a Bookworm, which contains both Season 1 and Season 2 of the series in a single set along with a 112-page booklet, has been delayed until 25th September 2023.

Originally the set was announced for a 27th March 2023 release, however due to various production delays the set has been pushed back to 25th September 2023. At the time of writing Anime Limited have not yet made a public announcement of the delay, but they have updated the release date of the product on their online store and notified customers (who pre-ordered the set from them) via email about the delay.

Ironically this UK Collector’s Edition Blu-ray release of the series will most likely use the same disc masters as those authored by Sentai Filmworks in North America, of which saw them release the series in 2021, so it is most likely the bonus booklet and rigid art box that is causing the longer production delays as well as any potential age rating procedures. Regardless, those wanting to own Ascendance of a Bookworm on Blu-Ray in the UK will have to wait until a little bit longer until 27th March 2023.
