Gundam SEED Destiny Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray Sets Scheduled for 2023 Release

The Ultimate Edition Blu-Ray release of Gundam SEED Destiny, which combines both Standard and HD Variations of the series along with the recap movies, Final Plus Episode and Stargazer OVA collection, is barely out the door (released on 19th December) and Anime Limited have already confirmed plans of releasing (what we assume to be) the HD variation of the series as a two-part Collector’s Edition in 2023.

We expect, just like with the previous Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray releases, this will present the HD variation of the series across two half-season-sets. Specific details (at the time of writing) have not been mentioned, but listings on Anime-On-Line reveal the first part be released on 13th February 2023 with an RRP of £59.99 while the second part will be released on 20th March 2023 with an RRP of £59.99. Based on previous Gundam releases it is expected that Part 1 will include an art box while Part 2 will include an art book, although these details have yet to be confirmed.

Just like the previous Gundam SEED release it is expected that this Collector’s Edition release of Gundam SEED Destiny will not contain the extras included in the Ultimate Edition, such as the Standard Definition (Original version) of the series, Stargazer OVA Collection and the Final Plus Episode, however different artwork may be used for the art box. If you are just wanting to watch the newer HD variation of Gundam SEED Destiny, then this Collector’s Edition releases of the series are a good option to explore; but if you are looking for the definitive Gundam SEED Destiny experience, then naturally the Ultimate Edition is the way to go.

Gundam SEED Destiny Ultimate Edition will launch on 19th December 2022, but is currently shipping directly from All The Anime (my copy arrived today), while Gundam SEED Destiny Collector’s Edition Part 1 is scheduled for 13th February 2023 and Gundam SEED Destiny Collector’s Edition Part 2 is scheduled for 20th March 2023.
