Earlier in the MVM Entertainment announced that it had plans to re-release classic DVD only titles, Burst Angel, Samurai 7, Trinity Blood and Witchblade, onto Blu-Ray in the UK. Since then MVM Entertainment have clarified additional details such as release dates and collectors edition content through new listings on anime-on-line and Amazon UK.
Firstly, all four releases will receive the Collector’s Edition treatment and have an SRP of £69.99, which each series presented in a rigid art box with a selection of art cards. It is expected that the presentation style of these will match releases such as Fate/Stay Night Heaven’s Feel movies whereby it was a standard Blu-ray case with the bonus content (i.e. art cards) slotted inside a rigid art box. The disc contents are also expected to be the same as those original released by FUNimation/Madman in North America and Australia.
Secondly, the expected release dates for each of these titles are also as follows:
24th October 2022:
- Burst Angel – Complete Series (Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray) [Amazon UK | Anime-On-Line]
7th November 2022:
- Samurai 7 – Complete Series (Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray) [Amazon UK | Anime-On-Line]
21st November 2022:
- Trinity Blood – Complete Series (Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray) [Amazon UK | Anime-On-Line]
5th December 2022:
- Witchblade – Complete Series (Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray) [Amazon UK | Anime-On-Line]
Recently MVM Entertainment have been hosting early bird promotions on these titles, which started last week with Burst Angel and is currently active with Samurai 7 this week. Based on the Amazon UK listings we expect that MVM Entertainment will host an early bird offer for Trinity Blood next week (starting from 22nd August 2022) with Witchblade on promotion the week after, but of course that is only speculation on our part.
Regardless, Burst Angel, Samurai 7, Trinity Blood and Witchblade will be coming to Blu-Ray in Collector’s Edition form later this year with the sets planned for release during October, November and December.
