SD Gundam Battle Alliance Demo Available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5

Bandai Namco Entertainment have recently released a playable demo for the upcoming action-RPG SD Gundam Battle Alliance for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in Europe and North America with a Nintendo Switch demo currently available in Japan (and expected soon in Europe and North America).

SD Gundam Battle Alliance is the latest entry in the “Super Deformed” variation of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise and sees notable Mobile Suits shrinked down to smaller scale. Generally SD Gundam games have been spin-off styled stories with turn based strategy gameplay, but SD Gundam Battle Alliance is a hack and slash styled action-RPG with its own stand-a-lone story (and judging from the demo a pretty good one at that).

Story:
The story takes place in G: Universe, a world where Gundam canon twists and turns in ways no one can predict. To correct this world’s distorted history, the player leads a 3-unit squadron consisting of Mobile Suits and pilots from across Gundam history – a true Battle Alliance.
What Awaits Beyond False History…

Strange phenomena known as Breaks are twisting legendary moments from Gundam history, and you’re in charge to fix them. Experience Gundam history’s most famous scenes as you develop new Mobile Suits to add to your arsenal. Gather Capital and expansion parts to transform your favorite machine into the ultimate MS.

The recently released playable demo, which is currently available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 worldwide and for the Nintendo Switch in Japan (but soon available worldwide), allows players to embrace majority of the first chapter of this game. In this case players will embrace scenes from Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans and Gundam Wing as they fight to correct the alterations in history. In some aspects it is the Gundam equivalent to Dragon Ball Xenoverse.

In addition to five story missions several tutorial missions are available along with customization and level upgrades for a selection of Mobile Suits that you will unlock. Further more save data can be transferred to the full game once released.

SD Gundam Battle Alliance is expected to be released digitally in Europe for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC on the 25th August 2022; however in Japan the game will be released physically for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch with the expectation of supporting English language (due to the demo on the Nintendo Switch in these regions also supporting English language). Further details can be found on the official website, our you can check out our play through of the Nintendo Switch demo below.
