Goodbye, DonGlees! to Debut in UK at Edinburgh International Film Festival with Cinema Release later in the Year

Anime Limited have announced that Atsuko Ishizuka’s coming-of-age adventure Goodbye, DonGlees! will receive it’s UK Premiere at the 75th Edinburgh International Festival on 16th August 2022 with further screenings planned for later in 2022.

The film will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles and the director, Atsuko Ishizuka, will be attending the screening at Edinburgh International Festival on 16th August 2022. Anime Limited have not yet provided a time frame on when the film will be in cinemas across the UK, but a synopsis for the film can be found below.

Synopsis:
Teen misfits Roma, Toto, and Drop call themselves the “Don Glees,” an informal name for their backyard adventures. One day, when the trio gets blamed for a nearby forest fire, they set off into the woods to prove their innocence. As disaster strikes their expedition, tensions flare between the friends as they realize that growing up has taken them on wildly different paths in life.

Director Atsuko Ishizuka follows up her critically acclaimed series A Place Further Than the Universe with her first original feature film. With luminescent animation and lush backdrops, Goodbye, Don Glees! is a tender coming-of-age story about the fearlessness of being young and the bittersweet journey of self-discovery.

Goodbye, DonGlees! will debut in the UK at Edinburgh International Festival on 16th August 2022 with further cinematic screenings taking place through the UK later in the year.
