MVM Announces Blu-Ray Re-Releases for Bakemonogatari and Is This a Zombie?; Confirms Release Date for Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon III

Anime distributors during the MCM London Comic Con this past weekend may have decided to take a break from the event, or even announce new titles during the weekend, but that hasn’t stopped MVM Entertainment from dropping a few surprises on social media including a new title announcement.

Firstly the distributor confirmed that Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon III, which is of course the third season in the DanMachi (Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon) franchise, is expected to be released on 5th September 2022 on Blu-Ray format as a Collector’s Edition with pre-orders now available through the anime-on-line store. This Collector’s Edition will contain a 56 page booklet and 5 artcards.

Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon III: The rules of the Dungeon always seemed simple: Enter, avoid traps, kill monsters and gather treasure. But when Bell rescues a young vouivre, Wiene, who is capable of speaking, it changes his understanding of what the Dungeon’s monsters could be. Unfortunately, the discovery of the Xenos, a secret group of monsters who all speak, reincarnate, and are capable of rational thought, isn’t welcomed by all. With many of the Familias remaining determined to destroy all monsters on sight, Bell and the Hestia Familia quickly find themselves confronted on multiple fronts, even as other Familias work in secret to exploit the Xenos for their own sinister gains.

Shortly afterwards the distributor revealed that they will be releasing both seasons of Is This a Zombie? on Blu-Ray in the UK, which previously only received a DVD release from the distributor, as well as a Blu-Ray re-release of the original Bakemonogatari series. Both of these titles have not received confirmed release dates, but the disc contents for Is This a Zombie? should be the same as the previous release US release (with both Dubbed and Subtitled options available) while the disc contents for Bakemonogatari will be the same as the previous UK release.

Is This a Zombie?: Some guys have no luckhe’s got no pulse! The now unfortunately undead Ayumu was murdered by a serial killer and resurrected as a zombie by a cute necromancer. Things were going alright, even after she moved inuntil a magical girl in a pink dress with matching chainsaw cut his rotting carcass in half! Now, thanks to magic, Ayumu is donning the pink getup as the world’s first magical girl zombie. But between voluptuous vampire ninjas, hideous crayfish demons, and more chaos, Ayumu may never rest in peace again.

Bakemonogatari: Having recently fallen foul of a female vampire, becoming one himself for a brief time, third-year high school student Koyomi Araragi (voice of Hiroshi Kamiya) is saved by the intervention of homeless man Meme Oshino (Takahiro Sakurai), who helps him return to normal, albeit with an extraordinary aptitude for healing. His abilities soon come in handy, however, when he begins bumping into a random selection of girls, all of whom suffer from a range of afflictions brought on by their interaction with supernatural creatures.

Further details relating to each of these new releases will be announced by MVM Entertainment in due time.
