Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness Arrives this Autumn (Fall) for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC

It has been quite some time since we last heard about Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness, an action RPG based upon Akihito Tsukushi’s manga series, and today Spike Chunsoft and Numskull Games have revealed new details, unearthed a brand new trailer and uncovered a release window.

Set for a Autumn (Fall) 2022 release onto the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC; Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness will feature both the original story and all-new story that is being supervised by Akihito Tsukushi, the author of Made in Abyss. As part of the original story players will be able to rexperience the events of the anime in 3D action-RPG format, while the all-new story will focus on a new group of characters and their adventures exploring the abyss.

Experience the Anime’s Story:
The story begins with Riko and Reg’s meeting in the first episode of season one. This marks the start of their great adventure, and together they travel to Seeker Camp in the second layer of the Abyss. Experience the awesome power of the Curse of the Abyss, as well as the astonishing, legendary entities known as primeval creatures. Prepare to glimpse the world of Riko and her friends.

Experience a Brand-New Story:
Another story takes place many days after Riko and Reg depart for the Abyss. The world’s sole remaining, unconquered chasm, the Abyss, is the stage where many adventures are born…and disappear. Those who appear in these stories are mesmerized by the power of the Abyss and aim for the bottom of the netherworld. The story about to be told is of the adventures of a nameless Cave Raider in the Abyss.

In addition to the newly released details Spike Chunsoft , and in turn Numskull Games who are acting as European publisher for this title, have announced plans for a Collector’s Edition release alongside a standard edition for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 platforms.

The Collector’s Edition will contain a copy of the game, a cloth poster featuring new artwork and a hard back art book detailing different aspects of the game; including character bios and artwork.

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness is currently scheduled for an Autumn (Fall) 2022 release onto the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC (via Steam). The console versions will be released physically and digitally, while the Steam release will be digital only. In Europe the game will be published and distributed by Numskull Games, whereas in North America it will be published and distributed by Spike Chunsoft .
