Cardcaptor Sakura Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray Delayed Again Until May 2022

Those hoping to experience Sakura and Kero’s adventure of collecting the Clow Cards in High Definition will have to wait a little bit longer, as Anime Limited have today confirmed that their upcoming Blu-Ray release has been delayed again until 23rd May 2022.

According to a stock update issued to pre-orders of the set from the Anime Limited Store the delay is to “ensure video, audio and subtitles are as good as they can be”, with the full statement available below for your reading pleasure (or disappointment).

While we know you can’t wait to get your hands on this exciting release, we’re still continuing to work on checking and improving the authoring of this release to ensure video, audio and subtitles are as good as they can be, which due to the sheer number of discs and episodes within this release is taking much longer than originally anticipated.

We sincerely apologise for this delay, but we’re sure you can appreciate our desire to take the time needed to ensure the quality of this important release, and rest assured your order for this item will be shipped as soon as humanly possible once stock arrives at our warehouse.

The product page on the Anime Limited Store has also been updated to reflect this new release date. It’s also worth noting that this UK Blu-Ray release of Cardcaptor Sakura uses different materials to the previous Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray released in North America by NIS America, with new video and subtitle assets being used, thus offering a better product than the North American release.

Sadly this isn’t the first time that this set has been delayed, as it was originally due to be released on the 14th February 2022 but was pushed back to 28th March 2022 for similar issues (in fact the statement is nearly the same). Anyway, what does this mean? Well it means we will have to wait a bit longer for the UK Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray release of Cardcaptor Sakura, and at the moment that date is set as 23rd May 2022.
