Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray’s Delayed Until January 2022

Once again those who pre-ordered Anime Limited’s release of Sword Art Online Alicization: War of the Underworld Collector’s Edition Blu-Rays will be disappointed to learn that the sets have now been delayed until 24th January 2022 (Part 1) and 10th January 2022 (Part 2), that is according to updated listings on the Anime-On-Line webstore.

It’s possible the dates listed on the store are just tentative, until stock arrives from suppliers, but originally Sword Art Online Alicization: War of the Underworld – Part 1 Collector’s Edition was due to be released on the 22nd November 2021, with Part 2 being released on the 13th December 2021. The release date for Part 1 changed due to production issues, and Anime Limited opted to have it released at the same time as Part 2, on 13th December 2021, with AllTheAnime Store orders shipped to customers at the same time, as reported here.

Sadly, as today is the release date, both of these products are nowhere to be found and the updated listings on Anime-on-line suggest we will be waiting until the end of January 2022 for them to be released. Naturally the big ’12 Days of Christmas’ sale on AllTheAnime Store could have caused delays with shipping, but those who pre-ordered ON-GAKU: OUR SOUND, which also launched today (13th December 2021) received them as intended, so it’s most likely another delay to the products. At the time of writing the release dates on AllTheAnime Store still list the 13th December 2021, and the distributor has yet to make an announcement regarding the release date for either product.
