Anime Whiteboard Artwork on Display at Canning Town Station during MCM London Comic Con this Weekend

If you have ever been to MCM London Comic Con and travelled via Canning Town Station then you may have noticed some Transport For London Tube branded whiteboards decorated with anime inspired artwork and wondered “who made these?”. Well these artistic creations are not a stunt by MCM organisers, but are instead drawn by Anthony, a Customer Services Assistant at Canning Town Tube Station, who goes by the Twitter name Letsdrawnmore85.

For the past few years Anthony has been using his artistic talents to decorate the noticeboards of Canning Town Station with artwork inspired from various notable Japanese franchises including Dragon Ball Z, My Neighbour Totoro and My Hero Academia. Each year, if not each day, of every MCM London Comic Con event a new piece of artwork – which seems to be drawn by marker pen – is created and displayed. In some instances passengers walking through the station can see in progress artwork.

So… why are we sharing this, extremely impressive, artwork? Well not only is this weekend MCM London Comic Con, but Anthony plans to showcase some of his artistic talent by having a selection of artboards displaying his art for everyone to see. In years gone by only one art piece is generally displayed, but this time he will have a wide-variety on display for travellers to view.

Naturally if you are a fan of anime then it is definitely worth stopping and taking a look, perhaps you might even see Anthony at work on the station, BUT if you are not passing through Canning Town Station or changing trains then we would certainly suggest doing so to see the artwork on display. Of course if you can not make it to MCM London Comic, or Canning Town Station, this weekend then fret not as more of his artwork (and time lapses of how they are drawn) can be found on his social media accounts via Letsdrawnmore85.
