Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, Zeta Gundam, Gundam NT and Gundam Wing Join FUNimation

The selection of Mobile Suit Gundam titles available on the FUNimation streaming platform is soon about to expand as the video-on-demand subscription service will soon receive four Gundam titles.

In this case on the 7th September 2021 subscribers will receive access to Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, which is a six-part origin story that leads-up to the events of the original Mobile Suit Gundam TV Series, Zeta Gundam, a sequel to the events of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam NT, a continuation of the events of the Universal Century, and the iconic Gundam Wing.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin: Upon Deikun’s death, Jimba Ral spreads word of a House of Zabi conspiracy – but despite such efforts the power and sphere of influence of House of Zabi, led by Degwin Sodo Zabi, only seem to escalate. While we witness for the first time the untold convulsions of Universal Century history, Casval and Artesia, just bereaved of their father, must face destinies which will be just as tumultuous as the very era itself.

Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A new generation of Gundam mobile suits is created not to fight for peace, but to punish the enemies of the state, and yesterday’s villains must become today’s heroes in order to balance the scales of justice. When a young civilian named Kamille Bidan is caught up in the rebellion, he little suspects the price he will pay in the fight for freedom.

Mobile Suit Gundam NT: One year has passed since the contents of Laplace’s Box were revealed to the world at the end of the conflict called the “Laplace Incident” – as seen in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Despite the revelation of the Universal Century Charter that acknowledges the existence and rights of Newtypes, the framework of the world has not been greatly altered.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Mankind has moved into space. Thousands of people live on giant orbiting space colonies called “Sides.” However, the Earth Government, which rules the colonies, is unjust and cruel. A group of revolutionaries build five robotic weapons called Gundams and plan to send them to Earth to begin their fight for independence. Piloted by five young men, these Gundams carry the colonists’ hopes and dreams of freedom with them as they descend to Earth to begin Operation Meteor!

Each of these series will stream with English subtitles and in English-dubbed format on Funimation in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. They will also launch in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru, with a date to be confirmed. All of aforementioned titles are also available on Blu-ray via Anime Limited in the UK.
