KOEI TECMO have announced that Monster Rancher DX and Monster Rancher 2 DX, otherwise known in Japan as Monster Farm DX and Monster Farm 2 DX, will be making their western debut onto Nintendo Switch, Windows PC and iOS devices on 9th December 2021.
Celebrating its 25th the Monster Rancher franchise originally debuted in Japan on the PlayStation as a simulation RPG whereby players could tame and train monsters. The unique aspect of the original game also saw new monsters created depending on the type of Music CD used when creating a new monster. Since it’s debut the franchise has expanded to manga and anime with the original games and anime series even being localised and released in the west. The anime series is also available to Stream on the TMS Anime YouTube Channel.

It’s been a long time since then but in the past few years Monster Rancher and Monster Rancher 2 were ported to Nintendo Switch in Japan. This ‘DX’ Edition of each title is an expanded upon version of those previous released and also sees the game coming to Windows PC and iOS platforms alongside an updated Switch version worldwide. As an example these editions will include dditional save slots, Freeze slots, and Monster Hall of Fame slots as well as new features such as a memo feature to use while raising monsters, rankings for random battles, and a high-speed mode to play through the game faster.
Monster Rancher DX and Monster Rancher 2 DX are planned for a Nintendo Switch, Windows PC and iOS release on 9th December 2021.
