Anime Limited Announces The Big Order and Sword Art Online Alicization: War of the Underworld for UK Blu-Ray Release

As part of the recent Summer Festival, which saw a selection of titles reduced in price, and as a blog post of what to expect from releases in September Anime Limited have confirmed plans to release The Big Order and Sword Art Online Alicization: War of the Underworld on Blu-Ray in the UK.

Newly Announced Titles:

  • The Big Order – This will contain the complete series, and the bonus OVA episode, on a single Blu-Ray disc in Japanese with English subtitles. as a Collector’s Edition. Much like Konosuba this Collector’s Edition will be a standard amary case inside a chipboard artbox with a bonus booklet.
  • Sword Art Online Alicization: War of the Underworld – Details for this have yet to be specified, but pre-orders are expected to start on AllTheAnime from 5th September 2021. We expect it will be a similar release format to the previous cour/season with Part 1 containing an art box and Part 2 containing an art book.

Upcoming Pre-Orders:

  • Inuyasha – Season 1 – Originally announced as part of an MCM London Comic Con event, and currently available to view on All4 and Netflix, the first season of Inuyasha will be coming to Blu-Ray in Collector’s Edition format. In this case a 3-disc set containing the first season in an amaray case that slides into an art box with a 20-page booklet.
  • Mobile Suit Gundam Seed – Part 1 – Previously released as part of the Ultimate Edition this ‘HD Project’ variation of the series will now be released in Collector’s Edition format. The first half contains the art box that will hold both parts.
  • Love Live! Sunshine The Movie: Over the Rainbow – Presented in a similar style the original series movie fans can see the film on Blu-Ray as a Collector’s Edition with a small booklet.
  • Weathering With You 4K – Previously included as part of the 4K Collector’s Edition fans can now have the standard edition of the film on 4K Blu-Ray.
  • Lupin III: The First – The feature-length CGI film based on the Lupin III franchise comes to Blu-Ray, DVD and Collector’s Edition format.
  • Miss Hokusai – Previously released as an Ultimate Edition, Collector’s Edition and Standard Edition the feature-length-film returns to Blu-Ray with a brand new English Dub and a reproduced art book for this unique Collector’s Edition release.
  • Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System – The OVA styled series comes to Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray with a 196-page booklet and 100-page case files booklet presented in a chipboard art box.
  • Penguindrum – Complete Series – Penguindrum makes its return to home media in the UK as a Complete Series Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray release with an art book.
  • Samurai Flamenco – Complete Series – Originally released as two-half-season-sets the series now arrives as a Complete Series collection. This will see the same four discs repackaged into two amaray cases that slide into an art box.

In addition to the newly announced titles the Anime Limited Blog went on to reveal plans for what to expect as early bird pre-order offers on the AllTheAnime, with highlights including Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System and Love Live! Sunshine: Over the Rainbow Movie, both of which are being treated to Collector’s Edition releases. Details of these releases, and pre-order availability, can be found on the Anime Limited Blog.

Finally, one thing to make note of, is that Anime Limited are teasing the big reveal and early bird pre-order offer for the previously announced Neon Genesis Evangelion TV Series Blu-Ray Set. A specific date wasn’t mentioned in the blog, but a countdown website suggests that details will be shared very soon.
