The Pokemon Company (UK) have announced through social media that the 2006 anime series Pokemon: Diamond & Pearl is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer within the UK. A closer look on BBC iPlayer reveals that the feature length movies Pokemon: The Rise of Darkrai and Pokemon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior are also available to Stream alongside Pokemon: Diamond & Pearl Battle Dimension.
In this rather surprising move, which can only be seen as educating the fanbase before the launch of the Pokemon Diamond & Pearl remakes on Nintendo Switch later this year, everyone who has access to BBC iPlayer will be able to watch the content. It’s not known if additional Pokemon content will be added, but we would assume the later seasons (Galactic Battles and Sinnoh League Victors) as well as the additional two movies (Arceus: the Jewel of Life and Zoroark: Master of Illusion) will be added in the future to offer the complete Pokemon: Diamond & Pearl experience. All of the below content will be available on BBC iPlayer until July 2021.
- Pokemon Diamond & Pearl
- Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Battle Dimension
- Pokemon The Movie: The Rise of Darkrai
- Pokemon The Movie: Giratina and the Sky Warrior
Previously Pokemon: Diamond & Pearl was shown on UK TV via CITV and DisneyXD, but more recently the series has been shown on POP! and POP! Max with the episodes available to stream on POP! Player and Amazon Instant Video. The Pokemon movies meanwhile are available on DVD in the UK via Manga Entertainment.
