The Transformers: The Movie Announced for 4K Blu-Ray, Steelbook & Collector’s Edition Release This October

Following on from several weeks of teases from British Artist Matt Ferguson, FUNimation UK have officially announced that Transformers: The Movie, which is officially titled The Transformers: The Movie, will receive 4K Blu-Ray release in the UK with Standard, Steelbook and Zavvi Exclusive Collector’s Edition variations on offer.

Scheduled for release on the 25th October 2021 The Transformers: The Movie on 4K Blu-Ray will feature a remastered 4K High Definition transfer and a selection of never before seen bonus features that are exclusive to this release. The Bonus Features included in this release are as follows:

• NEW Feature-Length Storyboards, including deleted, alternate and extended sequences
• NEW Fathom Events 30th Anniversary Featurette, including Stan Bush’s acoustic performances of “The Touch” and “Dare”
• ‘Til All Are One – A comprehensive documentary looking back at The Transformers: The Movie with members of the cast and crew, including story consultant Flint Dille, cast members Gregg Berger, Neil Ross, Dan Gilvezan, singer/songwriter Stan Bush, composer Vince Dicola and others!
• Audio Commentary with Director Nelson Shin, story consultant Flint Dille and star Susan Blu
• Featurettes
• Animated Storyboards
• Trailers and TV Spots

All three 4K Variations of the film will feature the aforementioned bonus material, and both Standard and Steelbook Editions will feature the same content other than a different presentation of its packaging, of which was created by Matt Ferguson. The Zavvi Exclusive Collector’s Edition meanwhile will contain a Standard Edition 4K with a selection of physical goodies, including a poster and artcards.

The Transformers: The Movie was previously released on Blu-Ray in the UK via Manga Entertainment as part of its anniversary celebration a few years back, of which also received the Steelbook treatment. This time FUNimation will release the film on Blu-Ray with a new transfer and cover art, of which will be available from 25th October 2021. The same set will also be released in North America by Shout Factory!
