NGPX 2021: AkSys Games Announcement Round-Up

Aksys Games announced a slew of new titles as part of New Game Plus Expo this week with the North American based localiser come publisher offering a variety of titles from Otome styled visual novels to frantic fishing experiences.

Code: Realize ~Wintertide Miracles~ (NSW/February ’21) – Brush up on your literary dates. Discover a new yuletide tale as the Steel City is covered in a blanket of white. Cardia encounters more dashing literary characters, both friends and foes. Uncover fresh intrigue as Cardia delves into the mysteries of her own family and dashing suitors.

Fishing Fighters (NSW/Summer ’21) – Fishing Fighters is a unique competitive experience sure to lure not only fishing enthusiasts, but friends and family as well. Get hooked on a new type of party game as you compete in fierce fish-offs with up to 8 players or simply relax and enjoy your favorite fishing spots together. Catch the game’s extensive Story Mode where you take on challenging rival battles in search of the elusive legendary fish. Select from an ocean of options, including deep sea, river, and lake fishing, along with a boatload of bait, lures and equipment. Enjoy authentic angling realism with the motion sensor and rumble features of the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers. Who will become the next fishing legend?

Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi (PS4™, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam/Fall ’21) – Tokyo, 1979. Olympia Soirée (NSW/Fall ’21) – With her entire clan wiped out years ago, Olympia has been isolated for most of her life. The heads of each Primary district—Red, Blue, and Yellow—lead a society governed by the island’s rigid class structure. Pups & Purrs Animal Hospital (NSW/Summer ’21) – Become the very best veterinarian ever! These adorable pets aren’t feeling well, so let’s give them the care they need! Pups & Purrs Animal Hospital is a simulation game in which you can have a dream job taking care of cute, fluffy friends.

Dairoku: Agents of Sakuratani (NSW/Winter ’21) – Ever since she could remember, Akitsu Shino has had the ability to see what others could not: spirits, apparitions, and indescribable creatures. As an adult, this talent leads her to join a secret government agency: The Occult Action Department. Her assignment is with the Sixth Special Preventions Office, and her job is to monitor the powerful beings who travel between her world and the worlds beyond. From her office in Sakuratani, a town in a different dimension, Agent Shino meets several otherworldly individuals with vastly different personalities and abilities: a nine-tailed fox spirit, a mischievous oni, and more. Part gatekeeper, part travel guide, she does her best to get to know these entities and keep them from getting into inter-dimensional trouble.

Variable Barricade (NSW/Q1 ’22) – A member of a prestigious family and heiress to a fortune, Hibari learns that her eccentric grandfather is determined to find her a husband. He arranges to house her in a luxurious villa along with four handsome, hand-picked bachelors and her private butler. As her suitors try to win her hand by any means necessary, Hibari endures endless everyday trials and temptations. Has grandfather chosen poorly, or is there more to these fellows than meets the eye? Through all of this, Hibari has two important goals: frighten off each of these marriage candidates, and absolutely refuse to fall in love.
