Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind Launch May 2021 on Nintendo Switch

The February 2021 Nintendo Direct was full of surprises, especially those who like playing Japanese styled games, but Nintendo’s unveiling of classic visual novel titles remade for Nintendo Switch were a definite highlight. In this case Nintendo have announced plans to release Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind onto the Nintendo Switch during May 2021.

Both games are scheduled to be released on the 14th May 2021 as digital-only releases, with Japan being treated to a physical Limited Edition release (although Japanese text only), and are complete remakes of the classic visual novel games released in Japan onto the Nintendo Famicom. Until now neither title has seen an official in the west and with the work of 5PB and MAGES the story and visual presentation has been enhanced for Nintendo Switch worldwide.

Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir: Hunt for clues, talk to suspects, and explore the Japanese countryside after tragedy strikes the wealthy Ayashiro family. Filled with suspense, this tale follows an amnesia-stricken detective trying to unravel his own past amidst the horrors of a harrowing murder investigation. Play at home, on the go, or in your favorite reading nook—only on the Nintendo Switch™ system.

Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind: Interrogate suspects and hunt for clues to piece together chilling conundrums plaguing a high school in Japan. Suspense (and a little bit of horror) ensues as you try to free students from their nightmare. Play at home, on the go, or in your favorite reading nook—only on the Nintendo Switch system. Can you figure out who the culprit is…before it’s too late?

Both titles will be available to purchase individually from the Nintendo eShop once released, with a discount being offered if both are purchased together, with the price varying depending on the country.
