MVM To Release Kandagawa Jet Girls on Blu-Ray in May 2021 & CHIDORI RSC on Blu-Ray in April 2021

It’s been nearly two years since the anime series based upon Marvelous & HONEY PARADE Games Jet-Ski Racing Adventure game Kandagawa Jet Girls was announced for a UK Blu-Ray release and today, as part of MVM’s own “early bird” promotions, MVM Entertainment that it will be making its way to Blu-Ray in the UK on the 10th May 2021. In addition the distributor also confirmed plans to release CHIDORI RSC in April.

CHIDORI RSC, otherwise known as CHIDORI RSC [Rifle Is Beautiful], seems to be a relatively new (or surprise) title announcement from MVM Entertainment and the distributor plans to release it as a complete series collection on Blu-Ray on the 12th April 2021. Kandagawa Jet Girls meanwhile was announced back in October 2019 during MCM London Comic Con festivities and has now been confirmed for a UK Blu-Ray release in May with the both the series & OVA episode being included alongside an English Dub. Both titles are being released in North America by Sentai Filmworks.

CHIDORI RSC: (Blu-Ray)
[12th April 2021]

Due to firearms restrictions, sharp-shooting tournaments in Japan are held using special rifles that fire beams of light instead of bullets… and since devices that fire pulses of photons are so much safer than weapons that shoot live ammunition, there’s little reason for age restrictions at shooting matches. As a result, many Japanese schools now have shooting clubs that compete against each other, culminating in nationwide contests!

However, when Olympic hopeful Hikari Kokura transfers to Chidori High, she’s alarmed to discover that the Chidori High School Rifle Shooting Club she’d planned on joining has been dropped due to lack of interest. Convincing her friends and classmates to join this offbeat club will be just the first target in Hikari’s ambitious plans as a team of young markswomen set their sights on going all the way to the national championships!

Kandagawa Jet Girls: (Blu-Ray)
[10th May 2021]

Rin Namiki’s greatest ambition is to follow in her late mother’s footsteps and compete in Kandagawa Jet Racing, where teams of girls on jet skis race while firing high-powered water guns to slow their competitors’ jets (and blow off their clothing!). But since there’s no jet racing in Rin’s remote fishing village, that means moving, all by herself, to a girls’ school in faraway Tokyo!

Meanwhile, Misa Aoi dreamed of becoming a great player, but those ambitions floundered until Rin transferred to her school, displaying astonishing skill for a newcomer. Is it fate? Now they “only” have to resurrect their school’s Jet Riding Club, endure brutal training, and face some seriously skilled rivals… but even the toughest tasks are easier when you’re doing something you love with someone who’s quickly becoming far more than just a friend!

As a reminder Kandagawa Jet Girls is a media project by Marvelous Inc (Japan) and saw both an anime series and video game released at around the same time. The video game, which allows players to experience portions of the anime storyline as well as unique stories specific to each Jet Racing team, was localised into English and made available digitally for the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. A Physical Limited Edition of Kandagawa Jet Girls, for the PlayStation 4, was also released in North America by XSEED Games.

Videogame histories aside both Kandagawa Jet Girls (anime) and CHIDORI RSC will be released via MVM Entertainment in the UK and are both available to pre-order from MVM Entertainments own online store.
