Weathering With You 4K Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray Delayed (again) Until Late December 2020

Originally due for release in early November 2020, but then pushed back to late November and then early December 2020, Anime Limited’s debut 4K Blu-Ray release of Weathering With You now has a tentative release date of 21st December 2020, that is according to an updated listing on Zavvi.

Anime Limited have not made an official statement on social media, or through the company blog, but the updated listing on Zavvi now lists a 21st December 2020 release date. On the 7th December 2020, which was the original (delayed) planned release date for this set, the listing for Weathering With You 4K Collector’s Edition on Zavvi disappeared, with the product listed as OUT OF STOCK. Anime Limited’s own store had updated to say the release was expected “December 2020”. Since then the listing on Zavvi has been returned, with the product remaining available to pre-order, while on Anime Limited’s shop it is marked as “SOLD OUT” and inaccessible when clicking on the product link (it did at the time of writing this article on least).

Last week we did hear rumours that stock of the 4K Blu-ray Collector’s Edition of Weathering With You had been delayed and was expected to arrive soon, at which point stock would be sent to customers as soon as possible. It’s worth noting that this delay effects both the original Collector’s Edition, which included the Soundtrack CD, and the Variant, which did not include the soundtrack.

So what exactly does this mean? Well it means that the expected arrival of Weathering With You 4K Collector’s Edition Blu-ray, either original or variant, is now the 21st December 2020. It’s also worth noting that while Anime Limited tend to ship stock out early when ordered directly from their online store Zavvi tend to stick to release dates, so those who pre-ordered from Zavvi (ourselves included) may not receive the set until after Christmas (if not the new year).
